Planet Protector Packaging reposted this
Founder & CEO @ ConnectHer, SwitchUp Communications, The Good Cookies & Founder @ The Comms Coop & The RêveUp Mentoring Program
🌟Today's #WoWTuesday post is for an amazing entrepreneur I met at the 2024 WEConnect International conference: Joanne Howarth, the visionary behind Planet Protector Packaging in Australia! With a passion for environmental sustainability, Joanne founded Planet Protector Packaging in 2015 after more than 25 years of entrepreneurial pursuits. Founded in response to the global plastic waste crisis, #PlanetProtectorPackaging offers an innovative solution by transforming wool into sustainable insulation material. 🐑 Since 2016, the company has diverted more than 4,000 tons of waste wool from landfills, helping to remove polystyrene (a not so sustainable material...) from supply chains. 🏭 Joanne’s ultimate vision for Plant Protector Packing? To lead the market in sustainable thermal packaging to preserve our planet for future generations. 🌍 Keen to learn more about Joanne’s journey? Connect with her on LinkedIn or checkout the Planet Protector Packaging LinkedIn page. — On Tuesdays, I share the story of one remarkable woman entrepreneur. I may have a limited reach, but I know my community can amplify this message. Head over to the WoW Wall of Fame on our website (link in comments) to discover all the women entrepreneurs we’ve featured in the past! Do you know of a #womanownedbusiness that deserves recognition? Tag them in the comments below! Let's come together as a community to celebrate and uplift these remarkable women. #WomenEntrepreneurs #WoWTuesdays *WoW = Women-owned workplaces

Our amazing CEO - Joanne Howarth - was a guest speaker at WEconnect International 2024 in Denver USA 🇺🇸 Proudly presented by Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, a global network that connects Women-Owned Businesses to qualified buyers around the world. The event also included success stories, shared by Women-Business Enterprises, networking, along with matchmaking opportunities for businesses and large corporate buyers across the world. “With EPS we needed 3 b-doubles to transport the product into our facility. With WOOLPACK we only need 1!” Here's how WOOLPACK reduced the RCPA's footprint by 66%! Our Client's Challenge: They aim to become carbon neutral by 2050, but to begin decarbonising their supply chain, they needed to eliminate polystyrene. Planet Protector's Solution: WOOLPACK: our sustainable thermal packaging that emits significantly less carbon than polystyrene, reduces transportation, and returns valuable nutrients to the soil at its end of life. The result: WOOLPACK lowered the company’s carbon footprint by 66%! It saves 80% of space compared to the previous packaging and requires less space to transport (which reduced incoming freight costs by 66%!). WOOLPACK: 📦Produces 280 times less greenhouse gas emissions than polystyrene 📦Is made from reusable, recyclable, and compostable wool 📦Is a short-term store of atmospheric carbon. It prevents the stored gas from contributing to climate change! It's a Small Pack, but it has a Big Impact🐑🌎 Want to see how WOOLPACK could help your company reduce its impact on the world?
