Dentists making a difference! 🌍💙 In the UK, South Wales Specialist Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Centre has switched to stainless steel rinse cups instead of plastic ones, showing just how easy it can be to make a sustainable swap. These stainless steel cups are cleaned and sterilised after each use, saving thousands of plastic cups from being thrown away every year. It’s a simple change with a big impact, and we love seeing more dental practices like theirs taking steps towards a plastic free future. Imagine the ripple effect if every clinic followed suit! #PlasticFreeJuly #ChooseToRefuse #PFJ #PlasticFreeJuly2024

From local businesses to global efforts, it’s incredible to see so many people stepping up for Plastic Free July and beyond! 🌍🙌🏽 Just like the staff at Campanile Hotels in the United Kingdom, who ditched single-use plastics and made pledges to share their commitment during July. 💚 Every small action—like bringing your own reusable bags 🎒, switching to refillable water bottles 🍶, or saying no to plastic straws ❌—makes a difference by reducing landfill waste and helps create a healthier environment for generations to come. 🌱♻️ We love seeing these changes in action and hope they inspire even more people in their community and beyond! #PlasticFreeJuly #ChooseToRefuse #PFJ

Continuing to find new alternatives to single-use plastic and creating new habits beyond Plastic Free July is a powerful way to make a lasting impact on our environment. 🌍 While the month of July serves as a great starting point for change, the habits and changes started during this time can easily extend into the rest of the year. Whether it’s swapping one (or more 😉) single-use plastics for reusables, making mindful purchasing decisions, or encouraging others to join, every step contributes to making a big difference. 💚 #PlasticFreeJuly #ChooseToRefuse #PFJ #PlasticFreeJuly2024 #reduceplasticwaste

At UNSW in Sydney Australia, the Division of Operations embraced this year’s Plastic Free July with an afternoon tea event attended by 50 staff members! Alongside celebrating their commitment to reducing single-use plastics, the team also hosted a stall to share the Plastic Free July Calendar of tips and gifted reusable cups to students, sparking conversations about reducing waste across campus. Empowering communities to promote positive change is what Plastic Free July is all about. A big thanks to everyone at UNSW for their continued efforts to keep the momentum going! 💚 #PlasticFreeJuly #ChooseToRefuse #PFJ #PlasticFreeJuly2024

In Marondera, Zimbabwe, students at Springvale House (Peter House Primary School) took part in Plastic Free July and spread the word in their community. 🌍 The children have been doing cleanups, collecting recyclable materials and decorating bags with motivating messages for change. Their teacher Elizabeth wrote "These children will grow with the knowledge of serving the environment”. Thanks for taking part and making a difference in your community and inspiring others to care for our planet. 🌱 #PlasticFreeJuly #ChooseToRefuse #PFJ #PlasticFreeJuly2024

Plastic Overshoot Day - This is the day when the generation of plastic waste exceeds the capacity of waste management, leading to environmental pollution. In 2024, the global Plastic Overshoot Day is projected to occur on September 5th. A mere 12 countries contribute to a staggering 60% of the world's mismanaged plastic waste. In 2024 alone, a shocking 69.5 million tons of mismanaged plastic waste will end up in our environment. Find out more here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gs6Bg6jt We will continue our efforts to help people and organisations take action to move the date and work towards a world without plastic waste. #PlasticOvershootDay #MoveTheDate #PlasticFreeJuly
