TAKING SHAPE • Drift, QLD ⁠ ⁠ What began as drawings and models now stands in concrete and steel, with whole-floor residences waiting for glass facades to wrap the building and frame the views of Main Beach. ⁠ We designed Drift's spaces for GDI Property Group to work with the location. Each home will open to 360-degree views across the Gold Coast waters. St John WA Coolamon Centre and Kepi-nara Medicinal Gardens Today’s St John WA event was a powerful celebration of culture, connection, and reconciliation, marking the official opening of the Coolamon Centre and Kepi-nara medicinal gardens in Belmont. The gathering highlighted the rich traditions and knowledge of the Whadjuk Noongar People, bringing people together in a space designed to foster storytelling and to celebrate shared narratives. The outdoor space, which includes a yarning circle, six seasons medicinal plants, and symbolic representations of the Wagyl and Derbarl Yerrigan, provided a fitting backdrop—bringing people together to listen, learn, and connect. It was a privilege to see these spaces activated—welcoming conversations, learning, and moments of connection. A special thank you to all involved, making it a truly memorable experience. I had the privilege of attending the Australian Institute of Architects' International Women’s Day Breakfast last week, hosted by the Queensland Chapter under the theme ‘March Forward’. It was a powerful morning of reflection, discussion, and connection with industry peers. Marrying DCA's cultural storytelling with our extensive experience delivering hotels across New Zealand, the collaboration forges a new hospitality landmark that honours the Māori narrative while driving local economic growth and tourism appeal. "Noho Hotel adds a missing piece to Rotorua's tourism puzzle," says Director Hamish Davies. "The design combines cultural depth with commercial expertise in a way that will elevate Rotorua's hospitality offering." Holiday Inn design draws from Queenstown's rugged landscape, with forms that complement rather than compete with the mountains.⁠ ⁠ We created spaces that pull Lake Wakatipu into the building through strategic sightlines. The views do the heavy lifting; we just set the stage.⁠ ⁠ The 182-room hotel merges hospitality requirements with architecture that responds to Queenstown's natural drama. A NEW HOSPITALITY DESTINATION TO BOLSTER ORANGE’S GROWTH⁠ ⁠ Marking a significant milestone in central New South Wales' tourism growth, 123-125 Peisley St will transform an existing heritage site in Orange's town centre into a contemporary hospitality destination that celebrates the region's character. ⁠ ⁠ The architectural response draws inspiration from Orange's industrial roots and wine industry, the materiality features earthy tones, textural brickwork, fine-grain detailing, and profiled bronze columns. ⁠ ⁠ Reflecting on the project's role in the region’s future, Director, Rido Pin commented, "this project shows how thoughtful design can create spaces that bring people together.
