Maybe it's just me but isn't there an unspoken rule of society that you don't swear during an interview? Am I wrong? Or have things changed? Recently, I've heard feedback through clients and other recruiters that candidates have dropped the occasional swear word during the interview process with a prospective employer. I might be old school, but this is definitely not on in my book! For those preparing for interviews, here's some tips on etiquette (in addition to not swearing!): 1. Be punctual. 2. Dress appropriately. 3. Greet the interviewer respectfully with a handshake and eye contact. 4. Be clear and concise in your answers and questions. 5. Be polite and thankful when leaving the meeting. Whilst authenticity is highly valued, poor behavior such as oversharing and using offensive language isn't and can be detrimental to your progression in the interview process.
