Meet Cassiel Rousseau, Olympic diver and one of our two new athletes to the project32 program. At just 23, Cassiel has quickly established himself as one of Australia’s brightest talents in diving. In 2023, Cassiel made history by becoming the first Australian men’s 10m platform world champion, taking home gold at the World Championships in Fukuoka. A recent fourth place at the Paris Olympics has solidified him as one of the world’s best. Cassiel had a unique journey into diving. A former child circus performer and acrobatic gymnast, he made it to the finals of Australia’s Got Talent by the age of 11. It wasn’t until 2017 that he reluctantly joined his sister at diving trials – and within two months, he was hooked. Just a year later, Cassiel was crowned Australia’s elite junior champion and joined the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship program under the mentorship of Ironwoman Karla Gilbert. Growing up in Queensland as one of seven siblings, Cassiel's dedication and resilience has defined his career. He faced multiple injuries along the way but always found his way back to the top, including earning his spot on the Australian team for the Tokyo & Paris Olympics. Off the diving platform, Cassiel is studying psychology at Griffith University. He’s also a fan of tattoos, reserving the left side of his body for the most meaningful ones, including tributes to his Olympic journey and his late grandfather, Michel Rousseau, a gold medalist at the 1956 Olympics. As part of the project32 program, Entain Australia & New Zealand is proud to support Cassiel as he continues to chase his athletic dreams while also preparing for life beyond sport. “In a sport with limited exposure in Australia, it’s hard to find sponsors or people to support me financially. I am still unsure about what I want to do after diving, so the support from Entain and project32 will give me insights into what the working world looks like, and direction I might like to go post diving.” Cassiel said. We’re excited to join Cassiel on his journey and can’t wait to see what’s next! Duncan Armstrong OAM OLY Rohan Sawyer #project32 #jointhejourney #australiansport

Meet Cara Feain-Ryan OLY, the 25-year-old Australian middle-distance runner who has had an impressive rise to the global stage as one of Australia’s top steeplechase runners. Cara, who grew up in Alstonville NSW, began her athletics journey at local cross-country events and school carnivals before making her mark on the national and international circuits. After narrowly missing the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she used that setback as motivation, going on to set a new personal best in the 3000m steeplechase at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In 2023, she dominated the domestic season, winning the Brisbane Track Classic and the National Championships, before claiming gold at the World University Games. Her strong performances secured her a place in Australia’s World Championships team in Budapest, where she moved up to sixth on the Australian all-time list for her event. While continuing to chase her next Olympic Games, Cara also dedicates her time to coaching young athletes at Moreton Bay College, giving back to her sport and helping inspire a new generation of young sportswomen. Balancing her sport with her studies at the University of Queensland, she’s pursuing a degree in Speech Pathology, preparing for life beyond the track. Partnering with project32 and Entain Australia & New Zealand, Cara’s journey beyond Paris 2024 is backed by a passionate community, providing her with the financial support and mentorship to help her reach her full potential. “The support of Entain and the program is going to provide so much to me on and off the track, and make life as an athlete that much easier.” Rohan Sawyer Duncan Armstrong OAM OLY #project32 #jointhejourney #australiansport
