We’ve always been proud to support Australian Red Cross in their valuable work across the country, they are there when people need it most. Today we’re announcing a new partnership that will see 750 new Australian Red Cross Volunteers trained to help in times of crises, such as bushfires, floods and cyclones. We are bidding farewell to our last Boeing 737-400 freighter after it took its final flight as part of the Qantas Freight fleet overnight. VH-XNH was manufactured in 1990 and has flown more than 61,500 hours across its lifespan, transporting countless tonnes of cargo and playing a vital role in connecting communities across Australia since joining our Freight fleet in 2017. The retirement of these 737 Classics makes way for a new era of larger and more fuel-efficient Airbus A321P2Fs. Welcome home! 🇦🇺🏅🦘 It was a privilege to bring home the Australian Olympic Team from Paris this morning to a massive crowd of their family, friends & supporters. Our Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner sporting the 'Go Australia' livery brought our Aussie athletes home via Perth before arriving into Hangar 96 in Sydney.

Our special charter flight QF300 is now on its way home from Paris carrying members of the Australian Olympic team.    The team will touch down in Perth this evening, before continuing their charter flight to Sydney as QF1300, where the team will be officially welcomed home from our Hangar 96.    Be sure to tune into Australia’s morning breakfast shows tomorrow for highlights from the Welcome Home event and safe travels to the crew and our athletes.

The third QantasLink Airbus A220 has arrived in Australia! ✈️🇦🇺 VH-X4C touched down in Canberra on Tuesday afternoon and will enter service in the coming days. The aircraft is 'Little Red Flying-Fox', joining Koala in our A220 fleet to be named after Australian wildlife.

This is a challenging day for our industry and we are sad to see Rex enter voluntary administration with the immediate suspension of its Boeing 737 operations. We know this will be a difficult period for many Rex customers and employees and we stand ready to assist. Rex customers impacted by cancelled flights due to the grounding of their domestic jet services can contact Qantas and Jetstar to be reaccommodated on the same route as their original booking at no charge, where we have seats available. Customers with an impacted Rex booking can contact Jetstar on Live Chat or 13 15 38 and Qantas on 13 13 13 to make a booking. They have until 31 August 2024 to take up the offer.
