I've had a few days to decompress after two amazing events last week - the inaugural Retail Media Network Forum and C-StoreTEC events. Amazing for a variety of reasons: 1) Our C-StoreTEC Board of Advisors! Recently, our Co-Founders, Matthew Elsley and Nick Larkins, attended the Ascendent Network Boot Camp in Silicon Valley, where Qsic co-hosted an exclusive roundtable alongside Neha Nayyar from 7-Eleven’s Gulp Media Network. The discussion focused on strategies for Retail Media Networks (RMNs) to elevate their offerings and better compete with major players like Amazon by prioritizing retail outcomes over traditional media metrics—emphasizing a "Big R, little m" approach. The conversation addressed the significant advantages RMNs with a physical footprint hold, with 80-90% of transactions still occurring in-store. Despite this advantage, RMNs face challenges in planning, measuring, and optimizing in-store media, which impacts brand confidence. Qsic’s partnership with Gulp Media addresses these challenges directly by making in-store audio advertising more effective and accessible through easy deployment, robust measurement, and automated optimization, enhancing campaign performance in physical spaces. To build strong, long-term brand partnerships, RMNs need to offer integrated multi-channel strategies that connect digital and in-store efforts to drive awareness, engagement, and conversions.
