Building careers and honouring culture. Shell QGC’s Waalitj Indigenous Scholarship Program took home the Best Company Indigenous Initiative Award at our 2023 Awards. We are taking nominations for the 2025 awards and reflecting on past winners that have been game changers for Indigenous Australians. The transformative program is guided by Traditional Owners and gave Indigenous students with the support they need to complete tertiary and trade qualifications. The government is at a critical juncture and it's time to turn around the mistakes of the past.    Mining brings about more contributions to the state than any other industry. When our sector is strong, so is Queensland.    Past decisions are now being realised with Queensland losing GST revenue to other Australian states. Keep Queensland Competitive   The Australian revealed the extent of what the World's highest royalties means for Queensland with companies looking to invest elsewhere.    A major resource company is looking to invest in Canada where authorities are winding back restrictions in contrast to Queensland’s ‘sky high royalty regime and approval delays at a state and federal level’.   Queensland has the resources and the expertise but we need a fair and balanced royalty system to keep us competitive and continue delivering benefits for all Queenslanders.   Read the article here - https://lnkd.in/eXPPFTb3 #QRC #Queensland #Qld #Resources #KeepQldCompetitive

Women: Proudly leading the resources sector 💪   QRC’s CEO, Janette Hewson, is one of many women leaders in Queensland’s resources sector. Event Update: Postponed to 2 April 2025    With a forecast for severe weather events in Southeast Queensland, the 2025 Resources Awards for Women will be postponed from Friday 7 March to Wednesday 2 April 2025.    The resources sector puts safety first and the postponement of the event and forum encourages guests and staff to stay safe during this time.    We thank WIMARQ, sponsors, QRC member organisations, our suppliers and the women who work in resources for the hard work to date, and for the ongoing and support of the Awards.
