Protect Rainforests Forever
About us
Rainforest Rescue has been protecting and restoring rainforests in Australia and internationally since 1999. We do this by purchasing and protecting the biodiversity of high conservation value rainforest, and by re-establishing rainforest through planting, maintenance and restoration programs. Rainforests support around 50% of the land-based species of plants and animals on Earth. Beautiful, dynamic, and structurally complex, these forests are essential contributors to global ecology and represent millions of years of evolution. Conserving this unique biodiversity means protecting rainforest landscapes, species populations, genes, and interactions into the future. Rainforest Rescue provides opportunities for individuals and businesses to Protect Rainforests Forever. To find out more about our conservation programs or to get involved, head to our website to discover the range of ways that you can help.

The Daintree River alluvial plains have faced numerous challenges over the years. But, now we have an opportunity to cultivate a biodiversity rich island in the heart of the valley to help reconnect the wilderness north of the river to the more isolated populations of flora and fauna in the Dagmar Range 💚. Let's do it together: https://lnkd.in/gF2Zbgaw 🐞🐍🦇.

Big thanks to our #PartnersForProtection at The TreadRight Foundation for their ongoing support, helping us #PlantARainforest and #ProtectRainforestsForever 🙏 🌱 💚 🌳
Our partnership with Rainforest Rescue is supporting the rescue and restoration of essential habitats. Learn more about how the organization is supporting the world’s oldest tropical rainforest, the Daintree, which sir David Attenborough called ‘the most extraordinary place on earth.’ #maketravelmatter #climatechange #naturebasedsolution

Bees are a vital part of our rainforests and the world, but they are facing an alarming decline 🐝🐝🐝. Not only are these little critters believed to pollinate approximately 30% of our food crops and 90% of our wild plants, they also provide honey and other products such as beeswax, propolis and honey bee venom. The prospect of a world without bees is a terrifying one, but, you can help! 💛 Ditch the toxic pesticides and opt for natural alternatives instead (remember, even natural sprays can harm pollinators so make sure to only use them outside of foraging hours) 🖤 Plant bee-friendly flowers and let your garden get a little 'messy'. Let those dandelions bloom and give yourself a few days off mowing 💛 Offer a water source such as a pond, trickling fountain or bird bath with rocks (ensure the critters have ways to get out by placing sticks on the edges). 🖤 Set up an insect hotel in your backyard, and if you have children, teach them about the importance of pollinators. #ForestFlora: The King Fern (Angiopteris evecta) is one of the largest and most ancient ferns in the world. Have you ever stood under one? The biggest Fern on earth, measuring up to 5m on fully mature specimens, looks superficially more like a palm crown growing directly out of the ground but this is actually a relic fern from the late Paleozoic era. When visiting the Daintree, you can find King Ferns along the road to Cape Tribulation, and the Nandroya Falls track in the Palmerston section of Wooroonooran National Park (south of Cairns). "Restoration work focuses on the riparian ecotone because this marginal habitat between lowlands and water systems is crucial in stabilising the restored environment, not least because it connects the waterways to the rainforest and reef," Hayden White, Rainforest Rescue’s Land Manager, said to Reef & Rivers magazine.
