That’s further complicated by the fact that climate change is disrupting agriculture around the world. In response, an Australian startup is working to accelerate crop growth...." This one is extra special. We aren't just building a product, we're building a community of like-minded partners and investors. It feels awesome to make this announcement today, and know we have an incredible syndicate of curious humans beside us.
We have had many firsts in the last 6 months at Rainstick, but this has got to be one of the most amazing ones! We're thrilled to announce that Rainstick is the debut deal on the Startmate Angel Syndicate for Aussie Angels! This is a unique chance created just for the Startmate community, a group that's been integral to our growth. We put aside an allocation of our raise to enable Startmate community members to invest in us, but more than anything, to give the Startmate community a chance to continue to be part of our journey as we continue to grow. None of this would be possible without the steadfast support of Ben Simai Brady Flockart ⚡️ Michael Batko Phoebe Pincus and everyone at Startmate. Your belief in us fuels our ambition! And to our team Mic Black Chris McLoghlin 🍄 Startmate Aussie Angels Rainstick SXSW I had the opportunity to present at Startmate's Demo Day during SXSW Sydney in October - view the recording below. https://lnkd.in/gPUpaAPp

The Mongabay episode is live. After participating in a lively panel discussion at SXSW Sydney featuring Lee Constable, Dale Schilling and Mick Liubinskas, Mic Black Chief Thunderstorm Creator and co-founder of Rainstick caught up with Mike DiGirolamo who was patiently waiting in the wings. The two had a great conversation which is now live on the Mongabay podcast. "Mike approached me with such respect for our mission at Rainstick. He carefully considered our scientific approach and our connection to First Nations knowledge. It led to a conversation filled with hope, curiosity, and the dedication that fuels our work," Mic commented. Big thanks to Mike and the Mongabay team for such a rewarding and enjoyable chat. Over the weekend, Rainstick co-founder Darryl Lyons attended the Indigenous Australian Datathon at James Cook University. Realising the potential of combining indigenous wisdom with technology, Darryl has been the driving force behind this event for the past 3 years, advocating for solutions that address both community and global challenges. The Datathon's goal is to unite data professionals, innovators, indigenous communities, and students to create digital solutions grounded in the real-life needs of Indigenous Australians. We believe such collaborative forums can position Australia as a frontrunner in respectfully engaging and celebrating indigenous knowledge alongside data-driven technologies, creating solutions with deep community impact. Congratulations to all participants and to those working behind the scenes to nurture indigenous expertise and entrepreneurial spirit.
