Building community capacity through job readiness training, services & employment for Indigenous people.

About us

Real Futures is an Aboriginal Training and Employment Centre. Largely Aboriginal owned and staffed, we have mutually respectful relationships with Aboriginal Elders, Traditional Owners, employers, Government and service providers from Eastern Australia across to the West. Our mission is to appropriately skill and empower Aboriginal people to become workplace assets and community role models. We achieve this while upholding our core values of respecting Culture, applying high standards of ethics and accountability to everything we do, empowerment and capacity building through consultation, and earning mutually trustful relationships through integrity. We are the real difference for employers who want a strong and effective Aboriginal workforce. We consult with our employers and hand pick recruits from our comprehensive database of job-ready people. People are not products to us. We have a personal investment in them as well, so that we continue our support and championing of both the employer and the the recruit right through until both are thriving in their new professional relationship.

Yesterday, Real Futures, Real Futures - Women's Business 2nd Chance Hub and Kevin Stanley (Kevin R A S.) from NSW Health Pathology teamed up to host a stand at the “Jobs for Mob! First Nation Career Expo”. It was a great event facilitated by Workforce Australia (Sydney East Metro) and hosted at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) in Redfern. There was an excellent turnout of both employers and visitors, creating a buzzy atmosphere of career opportunities ⚡ Oneeva Tu’uhetoka, along with other amazing Aboriginal leaders in community, worked with Kelly Hayes, Employment Facilitator at Workforce Australia, on an Advisory Committee. They assisted in the planning and set up to make this event possible. Nakoa, Penny and Leah from our WB2C team also took a bus full of our Return to Work program Aspirants to the Expo. They had the opportunity to meet multiple employers and share their resumes. All the Aspirants came back quite excited for the new opportunities to come and are working with our team to prepare them for their next career steps 🚀 #JobsForMob #FirstNationsCareerExpo #FirstNationsCareers #WB2C #ReturnToWorkPathways #RealFutures #SydneyMob #NSWHealthPathology

Well done to our hospitality students who did a brilliant job supporting the Gwoonwardu Mia Art Gallery opening event in Carnarvon recently 👏🏽 They created, plated and served a delicious local menu to the guests, including a fabulous mocktail 🍹 menu. As always, thank you to Mark Attard for his teaching and mentoring. These students receive practical training at our café, Jardilunji Mia, located inside Gwoonwardu Mia. They course modules and qualification is facilitated by the Central Regional TAFE. This is their final catering event for the year however later this month, they will be supporting the food service at the Gascoyne Hospitality, Tourism and Business Forum. Once these students graduate with their Cert II in Hospitality, they will be ready to take their skills to the local industry and find fulfilling jobs 😄 #CertificateInHospitality #TAFE #JardilunjiMia #RealFutures #EmpoweringPeople #GwoonwarduMia #ArtGalleryOpening
