Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) At RDAMNC, we serve as a vital link between local communities, industry, and all levels of government. Our mission is to advocate for and advance the interests of the Mid North Coast, Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island, by driving economic development and fostering collaborative partnerships. Before and After School Care (BASC) – P&C Transition Grant Program Grants of up to $10,000 are being offered to P&Cs of NSW Government Primary Schools who have or are in the process of transitioning BASC services to their ownership. Eligible activities include legal and accounting fees as well as costs associated with provider and service approvals. Eligible applicants include approved Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) providers. Charles Sturt University: Research Project Charles Sturt is hosting a university-based interprofessional wellbeing clinic for older Australians. This qualitative research project engages older Australians and key stakeholders in a co-design process to establish a clinic aimed at promoting holistic health and wellbeing. The initiative will offer vital work-integrated learning opportunities for nursing and allied health students, including those in social work, occupational therapy, and psychology. Announcement: Worker Retention Payment Guidelines Released The worker retention payment guidelines are now available to support a 15% wage increase for the early childhood education and care (ECEC) workforce over the next two years. Eligible providers can opt-in by applying for the payment and fulfilling specific conditions outlined in the guidelines, which include eligibility criteria, grant conditions, and reporting requirements. Applications will open next week. A webinar is scheduled for October 10, 2024, at 2 PM AEDT to discuss these guidelines. A recording and transcript will be accessible on the DOE website.

Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program The Australian Government is investing $100 million through the Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program, part of the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF). This initiative aims to provide crucial housing for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence and older women at risk of homelessness. Over five years, the program will fund the construction, remodeling, or purchase of crisis and transitional accommodation. This program aligns with the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children (2022-2032). Applications for grants are open until November 13, 2024.
