What if disaster resilience wasn’t just a privilege for those who can afford it, but a fundamental right for everyone? In a compelling new article published in Luminate, Rebecca Hitchmough from Fiftyfive5, part of Accenture Song, sheds light on the growing inequality in how Australians are impacted by natural disasters like floods, bushfires, and cyclones. While some communities are able to rebuild and recover, vulnerable groups—such as low-income households, renters, First Nations Peoples, and CALD communities—face systemic barriers that trap them in an endless cycle of crisis. The article dives deep into why resilience must be treated as a right, not a privilege, and calls for community-led, inclusive strategies that address the unique needs of the most affected populations. By harnessing local knowledge and breaking down economic barriers, we can ensure everyone has the tools and resources needed to withstand future climate emergencies. Check out the full article to discover how we can build a more equitable and resilient future. https://lnkd.in/grFZAPuj Anna Harrison, Antonios Meimaris, Ph.D., Erica van Lieven, Kylie Brosnan, Les Winton, Lisa Salas, Rachael Coulthard, Seán McNally, Troy K., Vanessa Ernst, Virginia Meikle, Sue York

How is AI transforming the way we uncover stories in research? After 45 years in the insights industry, Ray Poynter believed he had refined his story-finding approach. Over the past decade, he has conducted workshops for various organisations, including ESOMAR, MRS, JMRA, and TRS. However, the introduction of ChatGPT brought unexpected changes to his methodology. Initially, it was anticipated that the use of AI would merely enhance speed and efficiency. Instead, the impact has proven to be much more profound. In his latest article, Ray reflects on the transformation that AI, particularly ChatGPT, has brought to the story-finding process. Moving from traditional methods to a new "Socratic Inquiry Approach," this shift isn’t just about speed but about depth and accuracy. While there are challenges, such as ensuring accuracy and checking for potential hallucinations, the ChatGPT-enhanced approach has demonstrated increased speed and improved outcomes. There is now greater confidence in thoroughly searching for key insights, checking for contradictions, and crafting useful, coherent stories. Curious about how ChatGPT is reshaping insights? Read the full article below and discover how AI is driving better research narratives. Ray will also be hosting a course on the topic on 16 October. Story finding is an essential research skill that Ray has taught for many years, and the introduction of ChatGPT offers new methods to enhance its efficiency. In this 90-minute course, participants will learn how to define the problem, organise evidence, explore qualitative and quantitative data, extract findings, and transform those findings into a compelling story (see the comments for details). https://lnkd.in/gvUimmz3 #ai #insights #chatgpt #storyfinding #researchinnovation
