In 1932 our founder, Reginald Murray Williams AO, CMG began to make bush saddlery and boots for sale, while camped at Nepabunna, in South Australia's remote Gammon Ranges. Here R.M. first met 'Dollar Mick Smith', an itinerant saddler. The two men after much trial and error were able to fashion a pair of stockman's riding boots. Over 85 years on, R.M. Williams continues to make world renowned boots, accessories and men's and women's apparel that are purposefully designed and sustainable to enjoy on life's adventures. Today, R.M.Williams has 65 retail stores in Australia, 2 stores in New Zealand, 3 stores in the USA and 3 stores in the UK as well as over 900 stockists around the globe. R.M.Williams is a global company, yet will always remain passionate about the Australian bush. In 2020 Tattarang acquired 100% of R.M.Williams from L Catterton bringing the brand back into Australian hands for the first time since 2014. Tattarang is one of Australia's largest private investment groups owned by Andrew and Nicola Forrest. The investment of the Forrest family will ensure the Australian craftsmanship of R.M.Williams continues to be loved and worn all around the world.

Each R.M.Williams boot represents a journey of Australian craftsmanship, now over nine decades in the making. It’s a sum of many parts, processes and iconic stories, but it all begins with one piece of leather. https://lnkd.in/gzS5_CEu
This week we’re celebrating another big step in the expansion of our UK bootprint, with the arrival of R.M.Williams in iconic retail destinations Harrods, Selfridges and Liberty. In honour of these partnerships, our leadership team assembled in London and paid a special visit to the R.M.Williams trunk show at Harrods. We’re excited to bring our time-honoured craftsmanship and Australian sense of adventure to more customers in the UK, and to be partnering with retail leaders that continually define excellence.
G’day Marlow, we have arrived. We couldn’t be more excited to be expanding our boot print in the UK and celebrating the opening our new store in the historic town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire – an inviting space for our growing collection of handcrafted boots, timeless apparel, and functional accessories. This uniquely R.M.Williams store features artisanal makers from the local area, including many works by Rush Matters. It’s a space in which iconic Australian craftsmanship unites with a British sensibility. This long-awaited store is our first UK opening since 2017 and marks the start of a new chapter for our brand in the Northern Hemisphere, with another UK door set to open before the end of the year. If you’re in the area, visit the store in Marlow to enjoy a Master Boot Fitting and get outfitted for the cooler months ahead.
