  • We want to give a huge shout out to Lineage for offering us invaluable freezer space for SecondBite food and FareShare cooked meals in case of damage to our sites. We moved 50 pallets of food and meals over to them before Tropical Cyclone Alfred hit and this meant that we were still able to provide food and meals to people who need them most early last week. Fighting food insecurity is a team effort and we are really grateful to Lineage for their support 👏

  • We were very happy with this finding from our Charity Partner Survey - 88% of charity partners agree that we've helped to reduce their financial stress which allows them to focus on other essential services. We have more than 1000 incredible charity partners across Australia, and we could not do what we do without them! Read more of the findings here: https://lnkd.in/dhUB2BMe

  • We're reopening on Monday! Our Queensland sites experienced some damage from Cyclone Alfred, so our team is working as hard as possible to get them all cleaned up and restocked. This means collections and deliveries will resume on Monday. We are working with our charity partners to prioritise areas most in need, and we appreciate your patience during this time. For our community partners, we appreciate your patience during this time. If you have any questions, please contact your Community Partnerships Officer.

  • 🌟Spotlight on The Salvation Army Wyndham City 🌟 Salvation Army Wyndham City supports around 200 people every week with free food through their community lunches, Doorways Program, and Friday nights with their Red Bus at Werribee station. Since July 2024, Salvation Army Wyndham have helped us to rescue more than 10,000kg of food! We provide them with weekly deliveries of fruit and veg, and we've also connected them with Nando's so they can pick up chicken each week. Salvation Army Wydnham relies on volunteers to keep things running and one volunteer “Sammy was made homeless due to a marriage breakdown and bike accident. One night he heard on the streets of a bus that had hot meals and food...he became one of our regulars and learnt of other services... He was helped to clean himself up to start to attend the necessary appointments to secure a house after being homeless for 4 years. He is now one of my most reliable volunteers, he helps drive the bus for donation pick-ups and loves serving the community with his big smile”. - Timothy Kite, Assistant Pastor at Salvation Army Wyndham Sammy is a great example of how together, we're making a lasting impact on the lives of people who need it most. 💪❤️
