In July, CMS released the FY 2025 ICD-10-CM code update, which includes a new code, Z51.A ‘Encounter for Sepsis Aftercare’. The new code allows providers to document sepsis aftercare and warn patients about potential risks, such as new or recurring infections, and offer rehabilitation for impairments. During next week’s presentation, Dr. Kathy Bowles will discuss how the new Z51.A code is crucial for healthcare providers to document follow-up care for sepsis survivors who may be at risk for recurrent infections or dealing with the long-term effects of sepsis, such as post-sepsis syndrome. Don’t miss out on this timely and informative conversation. Visit https://lnkd.in/g6GCeX-G to register today!

As our September Sepsis Awareness month comes to a close, we finish by always shining a light on sepsis. Sepsis is susceptible and we are all susceptible to sepsis as it can be from any infection in anyone at anytime. This month, we have started a national campaign thanks to the Commission, Sepsis Australia and the agencies involved, shared stories across the country and the world, raised awareness, created events, shared our stories in the media and shone a light on sepsis! We will keep going!! United, we FACE sepsis together and promise to raise our voices for our angels and warriors. We would like to thank and acknowledge the tireless efforts from all over the world and the wonderful bittersweet friendships that have been formed to unite on this worthy cause for all of mankind. This month is evident that we have progressed further, we have captured a wider audience and more recognition, above all more impact and commitment to earlier recognition. Thank you so much to the families of our Sepsis Angels and our Sepsis Warriors that bravely speak up.
