[Celebrating culture] We came together to celebrate Diwali, the vibrant festival of lights, thanks to our Brisbane Social Club and team who proudly shared their heritage. Our office was transformed with colourful decorations and an array of delicious traditional foods and sweets, allowing everyone to indulge in the diverse flavours of Diwali. Highlights included an engaging Diwali speech by Meghna Chapatwala and Rutvik Solanki, who shared the festival's origins and significance, and a traditional henna hand art station. The Western Distributor Smart Motorway joined in the festivities with a Diwali cultural presentation by Prerna Chaudhary, followed by a delicious spread of Indian cuisine and sweets. Events like these strengthen cultural appreciation and team spirit, highlighting the diversity at Seymour Whyte. Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration truly special. [Infrastructure Sustainability Award] We’re so proud to celebrate the success of our collaboration with Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) and SMEC, winning the Excellence in Governance Award at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) Gala Awards [24 October] for our Pound Road West and Frankston-Dandenong Road Upgrade Project in Melbourne.   This project exemplifies innovation in sustainability, safety, and community engagement. Key initiatives — such as the trial of 'recovered Carbon Black' (RcB) asphalt and the use of glass-fibre-reinforced polymer bars — reduced environmental impact while enhancing infrastructure durability.   Through strategic industry partnerships and initiatives, such as ‘Behind the Barriers’ event series with NAWIC VICTORIA , we promoted greater inclusion for women in construction. [Trivia teamwork] What a fantastic evening at the NAWIC QLD - National Association of Women in Construction & Queensland Major Contractors Association (QMCA) Trivia Night on Thursday 3 October. Not only did we enjoy a fun evening of team bonding, we also helped to raise vital funds for TIACS, supporting mental health in construction—a mission close to our hearts. We were excited to see some friendly inter-company rivalry as our two teams faced off. 'Seymour Smarts' took home the victory, while 'Seymour Whyte A Team' cheered them on, determined to claim the title next time.
