☀️ It was a big day at the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale yesterday, as the WA Premier Roger Cook arrived in Mundijong with ministers for the Community Cabinet. With a State election just months away, Shire President Rob Coales and CEO Paul Martin presented to Cabinet on the Shire’s key advocacy projects.  It was also an opportunity for David Templeman MLA Minister for Sport and Recreation to sign a $18.5 million State Government funding agreement with the Shire for one of those projects - Keirnan Park Recreation Precinct, even finding time to drop in on our mobile library with Member for Darling Range Hugh Jones MLA! The Keirnan Park funding is on top of the $3.5 million the Shire has already received for the major infrastructure project. We are all really excited to have Common Ground Trails on board to drive the first stage of construction and design of a new pump track for Byford. 🙏 Thanks to the Premier, ministers and Hugh Jones MLA for visiting the Shire and for their continued support. The Shire is continuing to advocate for key projects in the lead up to the upcoming State and Federal Government elections. 🙏Yesterday the Shire hosted Libby Mettam Leader of the WA Liberal Party, and Paul Mansfield Liberal candidate for Darling Range to highlight the Shire’s 2025 Election Advocacy Priorities. 🏀 The visit included highlighting the need for investment in community sporting infrastructure for netball courts, BMX and the SJ Community Recreation Centre, funding to improve local roads and delivering a Jarrahdale Trails Centre. 🚲 These meetings are vital, as we seek to support the increasing numbers of families moving to the Shire, and so need to ensure that we have the community infrastructure in place to maintain SJ's liveability.
