"It's a no-code and self-service tool ! Just watch a tuto on youtube". Tired of this? I'am! And, it's frustrating to see the gap between the understanding of what we're trying to achieve with these tools and what some managers think it is. No code doesn't mean easy to use. Self-service doesn't mean easy to use, either. Let's take the example of a gas station : It's self-service, you go there, you fill up your tank, you pay and you leave. It's easy to use. Right? But does it mean that : - Extracting oil is easy? No - Refining and distributing it is easy ? Absolutely not. - Complying with all the specifications and safety regulations is easy ? No. - Building a gas station is easy ? Not at all. We really need to help managers better understand Data Visualization and invite them to training courses so that they can experience it for themselves. There are a lot of concepts that are difficult to understand : - Data preparation - Design Process - Product vision - Level of detail - Geo-mapping - Performance - Calculations - Governance - Aggregation - UX Design ... When your company is moving towards a data transformation. The tool is not the purpose. The purpose is to get users to adopt Data Visualization to better understand the company's situation and make better decisions. #Tableau #PowerBI #businessintelligence
