Fantastic news from Western Australia on the announcement of the Pilbara Energy Transition (PET) Plan, which marks a significant milestone in Australia's journey towards large-scale renewable energy, green iron, and green minerals projects in the north-west. The identification of priority transmission corridors is a crucial step towards creating a single Common-User Grid Infrastructure Plan for the greater Pilbara region. This infrastructure will: ✅ Enable the decarbonisation of the resources industry ✅ Unlock more than $50 billion in new investment ✅ Lay the foundations for Australia to lead the world in green exports. We have long advocated for the development of a unified energy grid in the Pilbara to drive investment in renewable-powered industries and accelerate the value-added processing of critical minerals. Now is the time for decisive action to supercharge WA's energy future. Exciting news for the Pilbara and our State’s energy transition! The State Government has identified four priority corridors for the development of new common-use transmission infrastructure as part of the Pilbara Energy Transition (PET) Plan. At today’s Pilbara Roundtable held in Port Hedland, we launched an Expression of Interest process, inviting project proponents within these corridors to apply for Priority Project status. The identified priority corridors are: ▪️ Burrup (Murujuga) Corridor ▪️ Chichester Range Corridor ▪️ Hamersley Range Corridor ▪️ Great Sandy Desert Corridor Designated Priority Projects will receive a State Government endorsement for consideration by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation for concessional financing, with up to $3 billion available from WA’s allocation under the Australian Government's Rewiring the Nation program. These priority projects will help accelerate the decarbonisation of the Pilbara region. To find out more, click the link below: https://lnkd.in/gvSgsqYN #PETplan #RenewableEnergy #RenewableFuture #WA
