The true extent of the impact of nuclear power on millions of Australian solar families has been hidden until now 🤯 New analysis from the Smart Energy Council shows the Coalition's introduction of seven nuclear reactors will shut down solar panels in up to 3 million households, and force them off the cheapest form of energy to the most expensive. IGO Ltd. unlocks the power of renewables on its Nova Operation in collaboration with Zenith Energy and 5B. Land optimisation is essential for large-scale development. This 10 MW solar farm occupies just 7 hectares using 5B Maverick solar technology. In this video case study, IGO Ltd.’s Chris Carr and Zenith Energy’s Hamish Moffat discuss the transformative impact of integrating renewable energy, including the unique benefits of the 5B Maverick: • Cost advantage • Reduce waste • Cut freight and logistics costs • Significant capital recovery • Breakaway from traditional solar farm layouts • Less sensitive to geotechnical aspects • Infinitely scalable About the project, Hamish Moffatt says: "The 5B system provides us with a cost advantage by reducing the need for personnel, minimising waste, and cutting freight and logistics costs. Plus our systems can be redeployed for new projects, delivering a significant capital recovery." “5B has been a true partner with us, working on how we improve performance through deployment and operation of the system.” Watch the case study. https://lnkd.in/gssstg5A Enquire about how 5B can optimise your projects. https://lnkd.in/gjKjmHZh #CleanEnergyFuture #GreenMetals #NetZero #EnginesOff #RenewableEnergy #GreenMining #ZenithEnergy #IGO #5BMaverick #NovaOperation #SolarInnovation

Fantastic news from Western Australia on the announcement of the Pilbara Energy Transition (PET) Plan, which marks a significant milestone in Australia's journey towards large-scale renewable energy, green iron, and green minerals projects in the north-west. The identification of priority transmission corridors is a crucial step towards creating a single Common-User Grid Infrastructure Plan for the greater Pilbara region. This infrastructure will: ✅ Enable the decarbonisation of the resources industry ✅ Unlock more than $50 billion in new investment ✅ Lay the foundations for Australia to lead the world in green exports. We have long advocated for the development of a unified energy grid in the Pilbara to drive investment in renewable-powered industries and accelerate the value-added processing of critical minerals. Now is the time for decisive action to supercharge WA's energy future. For more insights, read our Powering Western Australia's Future report, alongside Climate Energy Finance's Superpowering-Up report. Exciting news for the Pilbara and our State’s energy transition! The State Government has identified four priority corridors for the development of new common-use transmission infrastructure as part of the Pilbara Energy Transition (PET) Plan. At today’s Pilbara Roundtable held in Port Hedland, we launched an Expression of Interest process, inviting project proponents within these corridors to apply for Priority Project status. The identified priority corridors are: ▪️ Burrup (Murujuga) Corridor ▪️ Chichester Range Corridor ▪️ Hamersley Range Corridor ▪️ Great Sandy Desert Corridor Designated Priority Projects will receive a State Government endorsement for consideration by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation for concessional financing, with up to $3 billion available from WA’s allocation under the Australian Government's Rewiring the Nation program. These priority projects will help accelerate the decarbonisation of the Pilbara region. To find out more, click the link below: https://lnkd.in/gvSgsqYN #PETplan #RenewableEnergy #RenewableFuture #WA

The Smart Energy Council welcomes today’s release of the NSW Government Consumer Energy Strategy, which includes a $238.9 million Home Energy Saver Program, and a commitment to introduce more money and resources for consumer energy for NSW. Other commitments made as part of the strategy include: ⚡ Setting 2035 and 2050 targets for ramping up electrification and improving the energy efficiency of homes ⚡ A $30 million program to help apartment residents install solar ⚡ $175 million for social housing energy upgrades, and $200 million to support the rollout of EV charging stations. As SEC CEO John Grimes says, "These are all measures needed to speed up the transition in NSW and get consumer energy resources moving in the state." Powering Western Australia’s Future Series 🌏 Ask 1: Introduce a legislated target of 82% renewable energy by 2030 on the South-West Interconnected System (SWIS). Western Australia stands out as the only state or territory in Australia without a legislated commitment to renewable energy growth or emissions reduction. While the Australian government has committed to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 43% below 2005 levels and achieving 82% renewable energy by 2030, WA has yet to follow suit with its own targets. Legislated renewable energy and emissions reduction targets are crucial to holding WA accountable to both national and international climate agreements. These targets not only guide policy but also give investors the confidence to support large-scale renewable energy projects, driving the state toward a sustainable future. WA has the potential to be a Renewable Energy Super Power – but we need action now. Binding targets galvanise action at every level of government and within industry to unlock this potential. It’s time for WA to lead the way in Australia’s energy transition.
