It's always so rewarding to support the Snow Foundation's initiatives, and it's been fantastic collaborating on their Lead the Way leadership program. For the cohort of 15 for-purpose organisations represented by their CEOs and senior leaders, the last few months have been spent learning, growing, and problem-solving together, before coming together one last time for the closing retreat. Throughout the retreat, adaptive leadership emerged as the unofficial theme, with many moments of reflection on accepting what is within our control, being solutions-driven, and supporting one another through challenges. It was a fantastic way to consolidate the cohort’s learnings and build lasting relationships. We’re excited to see what’s next for these empowered leaders and the ongoing support they will provide each other. Thank you to Plate it Forward's Kyiv Social and The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence. for hosting our final meetings. #LeadershipDevelopment #ForPurposeSector #EmpoweredLeaders
And that’s a wrap on our leadership program Lead the Way! In the past five months, this remarkable cohort has completed 8 leadership masterclasses, shared personal stories, supported each other through challenges, and forged meaningful connections across the sector. The final retreat at The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence. and Plate it Forward's Kyiv Social was a perfect close to this journey. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and Social Impact Hub for partnering with us. “Leadership can feel lonely, but knowing there’s a group going through the same challenges has been incredibly empowering.” “The greatest gift has been absorbing the collective wisdom of this network—a resource we’ll continue to draw from for years to come.” Beryl Women Inc. Congratulations Jo Taylor, Courtney Collins and the Pay What it Takes (PWIT) team on launching the "New Perspectives on Applying PWIT Principles in Australia" report. Weaving in valuable insights from sector leaders, this report is designed to grow the philanthropic sector’s understanding of PWIT's evolving principles and demonstrate how these principles can be applied to aid the Australian charitable sector. The report highlights the 'starvation cycle', a challenge facing charities in Australia and one that is heavily underscored in the documentary film Uncharitable Movie. UnCharitable is a tool to address this challenge, mobilising decision-makers across the philanthropy and not-for-profit sector to shift discourse from overheads as a tool for accountability, to overheads as an investment in impact. We encourage everyone to not only read the report, but also watch UnCharitable to better understand the importance of funding not-for-profits sustainably. Watch UnCharitable now via Gathr to support us in spreading the message further: https://lnkd.in/gAKdGeFh #SocialImpact #ForPurposeSector #ChangeMakers #ImpactInnovation #ImpactDriven #Granting #Philanthropy #DrivingChange #ImpactCommunity #charities #NFPs #charitablegiving
We are excited today to be launching the 'New Perspectives on Applying PWIT Principles in Australia' report. The report includes interviews with nine leaders from across the sector, sharing their wisdom, insights and struggles working to implement the PWIT principles. An enormous thankyou to Lisa Allan, FFIA and GAICD, Leah Armstrong, Ella Colley, Craig Connelly, Sarah Davies AM, Rona Glynn-McDonald, Peta MacGillivray, Jen Riley and Cynthia Scherer for their generous and thoughtful reflections. These learnings are a starting point for a growing community of practice, which can share experiences, learnings and tools, all with the goal of creating sustainable FPOs that are consistently benefiting communities across the country. Download, read, share, and join the conversation. The New Perspectives report was compiled by Jo Taylor and Courtney Collins, and beautifully presented by Bryce Groves. We can't wait to hear what it sparks for you!
