The recent floods across North Queensland have been devastating, with communities dealing with record-breaking rainfall and significant damage. It’s heartbreaking to see the impact, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.   In response, our Field of Play team has been working on the ground to assess the damage across various sports, including golf, rugby, football, AFL, cricket, netball, equestrian, BMX, shooting, and hockey. We’re here to advise on renewal, safety, and upgrade works that can be considered for funding as part of the disaster recovery efforts.   Despite facing significant damage to their properties and businesses, locals have welcomed and assisted the SPORTENG team with remarkable dedication. Understanding the vital role community sport plays in their recovery, they’ve gone out of their way to open courts and provide crucial information to the team, ensuring that sports facilities can be restored and continue to serve their communities. We’re here to support local councils and clubs in bringing these spaces back to life. If your field has been affected and you need advice, reach out—we’re here to help. 💙 #Floods #NorthQueensland #Flooding #SportsfieldsMaintenance

Exciting things are happening in Moreton Bay! 🏏 As part of Stage 2 of the Nathan Road Sporting Precinct, SPORTENG is delivering a brand-new senior AFL field and a multi-purpose AFL & cricket field—complete with LED lighting, drainage, irrigation, expanded car parking, and fresh new player amenities! This project isn’t just about upgrading the space—it’s about boosting sports capacity for the community and giving the Rothwell Tigers AFL Club a new home! 🐯🏆 Once complete, the Tigers will make a full move from Rothwell Park to this top-notch facility. And behind the scenes? Our Civil Engineer Alex is taking the lead! 🎉 Given the exciting (and challenging!) opportunity to manage multiple sub-consultants—including architects, engineers, surveyors, and flood consultants—Alex is tackling this project head-on. From design to construction, this is a rare chance to see a project through from start to finish! With construction set to kick off later this year or early next year, we’re pumped to watch this transformation unfold. Stay tuned for updates! 💪✨ #SportsEngineering #SportsDesign #AFL #Cricket #CommunitySport

SPORTENG Celebrates International Women’s Day 2025! 🎉 At SPORTENG, we don’t just talk about diversity and inclusion—we take action! For International Women’s Day, we hosted a panel with three inspiring women: Amy (SPORTENG Turf Agronomist), Mardi (Future SPORTENG QLD Team Lead), and Kate (Trafficworks Pty Ltd CEO). From mentorship to workplace equality, we tackled the big questions: ✅ How far have we come? ✅ What still needs to change? ✅ How can we all do better? Key takeaways? Small actions create big impact—challenging stereotypes, supporting women at industry events, and pushing for real change in the workplace. To wrap up, we all wrote a Future Me letter—career advice, a goal, and a workplace behaviour we want to change. We’ll check in on our progress at Christmas in July! Let’s keep the conversation going and push for a more inclusive industry—together. 💜 #IWD2025 #InternationalWomenDay

  • Following the recent flooding events in North Queensland, our Field of Play team was on-site in late February to assess and assist in the recovery of sports fields, including the Townsville Synthetic Athletic Track. 🏃♂️💨 SPORTENG delivered the detailed design and documentation for the resurfacing of the track back in January 2024. Thanks to our work, the track sustained the flood events remarkably well. As you can see from the photos shared, the track is holding up strong and continues to serve the community💪 As the community continues to recover, we now face Cyclone Alfred heading south towards Queensland and northern New South Wales. It's a reminder to stay prepared - Make sure you’re ready with the essentials: - Sandbags and tarps - First aid kit - Flashlight and batteries - Non-perishable food and water - Important documents safely stored Stay safe, everyone! #FieldOfPlay #Floods #Cyclone #SportDesign

Bridge Road new AFL/Cricket Sportsground. As we continue to grow at Melton so does the need to provide new Sportsgrounds. Some images below showing the final elements being installed by S.J. Higgins Group. If you look carefully at an image showing the gravel layer you can see a fox's footprints. Should be ready for grassing in the next week or so.
