Yesterday, the Clontarf Foundation proudly hosted its 18th annual Wadjemup Cup, a round-robin Australian Rules Football competition held on the picturesque Wadjemup Rottnest Island. This year, over 130 enthusiastic Year 8 and 9 students from Clontarf Academies across Western Australia gathered to showcase their skills and camaraderie on the field. Adding to the day's excitement, SRG Global employees Jay McDonnell, Jon Smales, and Dylan O’Malley joined in the action, actively supporting the event by running water and engaging with the young athletes, fostering a spirit of teamwork and encouragement throughout the competition. #ClontarfFoundation #SRGGlobal

The Neville Bonner Bridge is a key connection linking the newly opened Queens Wharf Brisbane precinct in the CBD with the ever-popular South Bank precinct. At more than 320m in length, the bridge spans the Brisbane River and Riverside Expressway, facilitating access for pedestrians and enhancing connectivity within the city’s vibrant urban landscape. This iconic bridge, named in honour of Australia’s first Indigenous parliamentarian, is expected to see 10,000 pedestrians cross the Brisbane River daily. SRG Global installed the latest in stay cable technology, employing the innovative HiAm CONA system developed by the BBR Network, which was adopted in the design of this iconic bridge. This state-of-the-art technology contributes to the bridge’s structural integrity and aesthetic appeal, marking a significant achievement in modern engineering and construction. Our commitment to excellence is evident in the delivery of this landmark structure that enhances both functionality and community engagement. #SRGGlobal #Nevillebonnerbridge

Well done to the SRG Global team who took part in the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research Ride for Cancer, a meaningful initiative dedicated to raising funds for medical research. This 200km ride, held over two days, starts at Optus Stadium and journeys to the Mandurah Ride Village for an overnight stay, before returning the next day. Proceeds from the event support the Perkins Institute, Western Australia's largest medical research facility, which focuses on diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and rare genetic conditions. #SRGGlobal #HarryPerkins

Congratulations to SRG Global’s Infrastructure team at South32’s Worsley Alumina operations who are finalists in the 2024 Civil Contractors Federation WA Earth Awards for the Bauxite Residue Disposal Area Earthworks, Construction and Maintenance Services. Tonight’s awards celebrate outstanding achievements in civil construction, recognising the dedication, skill and ingenuity of our Infrastructure team. #EarthAwards2024

Today's featured 2024 WA Earth Awards finalist is the BRDA Earthworks, Construction and Maintenance Services from SRG Global. This project involves the progressive raising of clay lined containment cells to provide storage for bauxite residue from the Worsley Alumina refinery, near Collie in south west WA. Up to 980,000 cubic metres of material is required to be handled between October and April every year. However, the existing stockpile of clay was limited, and new clay couldn’t be sourced without impacting the adjacent native jarrah forest. The availability of clay was critical, and the solution provided was an innovative new embankment wall design that required significantly less clay, combined with an innovative construction methodology that required less resources, delivered better quality and was safer. This created additional residue storage volume and enabled long-term sustainable and environmentally secure residue storage for SRG Global’s client, South32. Join us on Friday, September 20 at Crown Perth as we announce our winners and celebrate excellence in civil construction, tickets are on sale now! SRG Global’s Specialist Facade and Structures West Teams are proud to be a part of this state-of-the-art project that will reshape the Perth CBD and redefine higher education in Western Australia. SRG Global has been engaged by Multiplex for the structural concrete and specialist facade packages. Initially, our Structures West team delivered the structural concrete package, a fundamental element of the campus construction which has played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal of the buildings. For this groundbreaking project, SRG Global has taken an innovative approach to drive collaboration in the design, manufacture and installation of the curtain wall facade. Our specialist facades team has been working collaboratively with Multiplex and the architectural design team for over 18 months to develop a facade that not only complements the building’s aesthetic but also integrates seamlessly with its function and environment. Through this process factors such as energy efficiency, natural light optimisation, and material selection have been considered. For this iconic project SRG Global built a Visual Mock-Up (VMU), that served as a powerful collaboration tool to allow stakeholders to visualise and evaluate the proposed facade design in a prototype environment. By building full size panels of different facade types the architects can review specific details, finishes, glass selection and materials chosen during sampling. This not only streamlines the design process but also helps to identify and address potential issues before they arise during manufacturing and installation.
