Connecting with local industry was a highlight of the Gladstone Engineering Alliance Conference! Stanwell and CQ-H2 representatives, including members our engineering, construction, procurement, and stakeholder engagement teams, highlighted collaboration opportunities for current and future project proponents, partners and supply chain reps. Shane McNamara and Antoine Choux shared insights into CQ-H2, highlighting local industry opportunities and benefits as we progress towards a Final Investment Decision in 2025. Stanwell also participated in a panel discussion on renewable energy innovations in training and career progression. Stanwell's storage portolio is getting a big boost! We're looking forward to two new projects entering our pipline: ✅Stage 3 of the Supernode Battery Energy Storage System, where we are set to gain 1,010 MWh of firming under a capacity purchase agreement with global investment managers Qunbrook Infrastructure Partners ✅Cressbrook 'Big-T' Pumped Hydro Energy Storage project, a medium-duration pumped hydro project in the Toowoomba region under development by BE Power, to be purchased by Stanwell via a partnership. First turbine deliveries to Wambo Wind Farm! The Wambo Wind Farm team tested the route for transportation of wind turbine components from the Port of Brisbane to Diamondy earlier this week. It’s a massive logistical undertaking and takes place overnight to limit disruptions to other road users - but you can get a sneak peek here! The first delivery of wind turbine components to site signifies a major milestone moment for the project, as preparation begins to erect the 83 wind turbines that form stages one and two of Wambo Wind Farm. We're building a Future Energy Innovation and Training Hub (FEITH) at our Stanwell Power Station in Rockhampton, which will be used for testing, scaling up, and training on new energy technologies. So, it's an exciting time for us!
