Starick’s Respectful Relationships team delivered their second professional learning workshop for schools participating in the WA Respectful Relationships Teaching Support Program this week. Starick supported teachers with learning resources to embed a whole school approach to respectful relationships education with a focus on mutual respect, gender equality, and non-violence. We were thrilled to have Kayelene Kerr, Founder/Director eSafeKids presenting cyber safety and the harmful impacts of pornography on children and young people; Jye Walker, Sexual Health Quarters previewing the successful Mooditj Leader Training supporting Aboriginal educators and community leaders to build strong young Aboriginal people, and Jacqui Karaki, Berry Street Education Model Australia discussing a trauma informed approach within the classroom. It was a great day of learning and networking for teachers, empowering them with the knowledge and language to stop gender-based violence.
