This week, Trukai Industries Limited — one of PNG’s leading rice brands and a subsidiary company of the SunRice Group — celebrated a major milestone with the first graduation ceremony for the Trukai Smart Farmer Program at the Pacific Adventist University in Port Moresby. Launched in 2022, this program is a collaborative effort between Trukai Industries, Pacific Adventist University, and the PNG University of Technology, aiming to build strong foundations for the future of rice production in PNG, by empowering local farmers with essential skills. More than 100 graduates from across PNG earned their certificates in Irrigated Rice Farming, marking their first formal qualification and a pathway toward establishing their own small farming businesses. The event also celebrated the launch of the Smart Farmer Internship Program, which will provide valuable hands-on experience in commercial rice farming, further strengthening rice production capabilities at a grassroots level. It was an honour to have representatives from the Prime Minister’s office and the Department of Agriculture and Lands, including Deputy Secretary Hoko, join in celebrating this impactful initiative. Congratulations to all the graduates! 🎉

🚜 SunRice Group at the 2024 Deni Ute Muster! 🚜 As a long-standing supporter, we’re thrilled to have once again attended and sponsored the Deni Ute Muster. Held in Deniliquin, New South Wales, this iconic event is a fantastic celebration of rural life, tradition and community spirit. As a company deeply rooted in the Riverina region of New South Wales, we’re proud to support important community initiatives in the areas in which we operate. To top it off, we had an amazing stall where we served delicious fried rice to the community - it was a pleasure sharing our food with you all! Thank you to everyone who connected with us at the event! 👋🍚

🌟 Making a difference, one paw at a time! 🐾 At the SunRice Group, we believe in creating positive change in the communities in which we operate, not just for people but for our furry friends too! That’s why we’re proud of the work at SavourLife, one of our incredible subsidiary brands dedicated to helping dogs in need. This heartwarming story is a reminder of the incredible impact we can make together. Since its inception, SavourLife has donated more than $8 million to Australian dog rescue organisations and supported the rehoming of more than 63,000 dogs. 🌾 It’s been a great year for our rice growers, and we’re excited to share the success! 🌾 We had the pleasure of speaking with Robert and April Andreazza, our 2023 Growers of the Year, down in Griffith earlier this year. It's growers like Robert and April with a dedication to farming and passion for growing quality rice who contribute to the success of our rice crop. At the SunRice Group, we’re proud to work with such incredible growers who help deliver the best rice to homes around the world. #Agriculture #Farmers #RiceCrop

We're proud to share the inspiring story of Jason Morris, a dedicated team member at CopRice Leeton for the past 12 years. Jason has worked his way from the floor to his current role as Production Coordinator for Milling, demonstrating both passion and leadership along the way. In a recent development conversation with his leader, Jason shared his interest in pursuing a trade — a dream he hadn't yet had the chance to chase. We're thrilled to announce that last week, we were able to offer Jason an apprenticeship in Fitting, beginning in January! Jason's journey is particularly remarkable. Despite having achieved a leadership position, he's taking the bold step of transitioning not only back to operations but also into an apprenticeship. He’ll now report to his current peer, with the goal of becoming a fully qualified tradesperson within four years. Jason's story is a great example of how we aim to identify, nurture, and unlock the potential of our team members. Talent development isn’t always about climbing the ladder — it’s also about creating new pathways for growth, change and pursuing your passions. We are excited to support Jason in this new chapter of his career and look forward to seeing him thrive in his new role. ⭐ #CareerDevelopment #CareerGrowth #Apprenticeship L-R: Charlie Young Maintenance Coordinator; Jason Morris, Production Coordinator; Chris Hotham, Site Manager.
