Strategic foresight meets sustainability action. Which archetype is your organisation?   Our purpose at Sustainify Australia is to help you become the Regenerator. We understand why you might be in one of the other boxes and we want to create a pathway for you towards #impactful and #resilient #foresight to deliver better #strategy , that also happens to contribute to global #sdgs.   #Strategy helps navigate us from A to B, considering long-term interests. A lot of strategies reflect short or medium-term aims and KPIs at best, or plan for the #future based on present or past performance. It's appropriate to track these metrics to understand current performance and adjust, but, if you aren't looking at what's coming towards us from the future with #climate impacts and adaptation, industry change, global macro trends, and innovation, you are at risk.   According to the European Commission, 'Foresight is the discipline of exploring and anticipating the future in a structured and systemic way. Its purpose is to help build and use collective intelligence to anticipate developments and shape the future we want'. The very potential for us to see what's coming and embrace uncertainty and complexity with open arms, to shape our roles and presence within the future. #Foresight is needed now more than ever.   Strategy without foresight is unrealistic, and can even be dangerous. Strategy and foresight were practiced together until they started diverging in the 1990s. That's not to say there aren't incredible individuals and organisations that have kept practicing and innovating the field, because there certainly are. But strategic foresight is not used nearly enough in organisations. Check out this article below by the Harvard Business Review for more.   Climate scientists have already given us our final warning that we're running out of time to take action. We understand that inaction often comes down to lack of resources or confusion.
