Strong focus from Premier's Department NSW and The Cabinet Office NSW to deliver competition in property settlement 🤝 On Friday, myself, Andrew Tobin, Jerome B. and John Ahern met with key NSW government representatives to discuss moving this important reform forward. There remains strong commitment from Government to ensure that network interoperability is delivered. This delivers $10s millions of benefits to small business and consumers. Every year. This reform is critical to enable genuine customer choice and build a more innovation and resilient future for our industry and customers. At Sympli we're determined to let customers choose their platform not get mandated to use a monopoly Let’s get this done. #customerchoice #interoperability #competition

Power only to one❔ Several monopolies in Australia have faced significant competition over the years, resulting in a more competitive landscape. Which ones can you think of?🤔 What this has meant? Improved customer experience, price competitiveness and giving people greater choice. At Sympli, our why has always been at the heart of what we do - we want to offer freedom of choice, better service and price competitiveness in a market dominated by one. Be part of our journey and stand up for what’s right. We need commitment this year that the network interoperability program will be restarted with the December 2025 deadline retained. Stand with us! #freedomeofchoice #standwithus #monopoly

It has been more than three months since our regulator, ARNECC decided to pause the interoperability reforms. Shortly after we heard welcome news from NSW and Queensland that they would look to restart the program as soon as possible. Industry needs a commitment this year that the program will be restarted with the December 2025 deadline retained - competition will deliver savings for home buyers and a choice for thousands of small business owners. We ask Governments across the country to deliver on their commitment to industry and consumers - a monopoly in this sector will only lead to bad outcomes for Australia. We look forward to sharing some positive news in the short term! #competition #freedomofchoice #standwithus

Strong bipartisan support to deliver competition in property settlement 🤝   Myself, Andrew Tobin, Jerome B. and John Ahern went to Parliament of NSW on Friday to meet with key stakeholders driving this important reform.   There remains strong political commitment from Government and opposition to ensure that network interoperability is rolled-out in 2025.   As I keep stating – this delivers $10s millions of benefits to small business and consumers. Every year. This reform is critical to enable genuine customer choice and build a more innovation and resilient future for our industry and customers.   Sympli we're determined to let customers choose their platform not get mandated to use a monopoly Let’s get this done. #customerchoice #interoperability #competition

Today at Sympli, we embarked on a fun, interactive tour around Sydney, recreating the traditional process of lodging a settlement. Each team of four received a settlement pack with riddles to guide us through key locations, including: - Discharging Mortgagee Bank: to collect the discharge authority and settlement sheet - Purchaser’s Solicitor Office: for the settlement sheet and final inspection form - Incoming Mortgagee Bank: to gather loan documents and cheques - Vendor’s Real Estate Office: to pick up the keys Finally, we wrapped up at the Land Registry Office! While it was a lot of fun, the experience really underscored our appreciation for e-settlements and reinforced the importance of developing an innovative, user-friendly product focused on ease and efficiency. #sympli #standwithus #esettlements

Queensland and NSW leading the charge to introduce competition to Australian property settlement. 👏   At Sympli, we’re encouraged by the States’ desire to keep this important reform on track to deliver $10s of Millions of benefits every year to small business and consumers from December 2025.   It’s clear that this program reset should give stakeholders the confidence that the monopoly market will end to give customers genuine choice. https://lnkd.in/gAPMX5Cw #competition #reform #customerchoice

Public Affairs for Sympli - Competition in Property Settlement

Sympli and the NSW Productivity Commission report, both warn of the dangers to other parts of the property market from PEXA also gaining a monopoly on the data that could allow it an unfair advantage as it expands into related business areas like conveyancing services. “This PEXA monopoly needs to be tackled head-on by government. We now know that it is building out a data empire similar to what we see in Google and Facebook but with little to no government regulation. This is a real risk and we know competition is the best way to drive accountability,” Sympli chief executive Philip Joyce said. #competition #Sympli #google #data

Public Affairs for Sympli - Competition in Property Settlement

Great coverage in The Australian today about the need for states to urgently use enforcement powers at hand to deliver competition to benefit those buying and selling homes. Federal Assistant Competition Minister Andrew Leigh MP said: “The first step is for ARNECC to ensure that it uses all of the available powers. At the moment the states and territories haven’t used all their available powers, and so the Commonwealth is ready to step in when the states and territories have run out their powers.” Sympli chief executive Philip Joyce told The Australian that the standoff between federal and state ministers will only serve to benefit PEXA, adding that all levels of government need to use their enforcement powers to break up the monopoly in the industry. “PEXA has been consistently sabotaging this competition reform through disinformation, withholding key information and political lobbying with zero consequence from the Government,” he said. #competition #econveyancing Sympli
