We had an incredible time at Spark Festival this year alongside The Azure Group and Jelix Ventures! With close to 100 registrations, we maxed out capacity and built an amazing community of founders, all focused on cashflow maximisation and raising capital. A special shoutout to Andrea Gardiner for sharing valuable insights on what VC firms are really looking for in founders. It was an inspiring event, and we’re excited to see what’s next for this dynamic startup community! 🚨 My Warning to Tech Founders 🚨 Keep the main thing, the main thing 🌱💡 As someone who's supported countless founders—and been one myself—there’s something we all have in common: a desire to create impact and build something meaningful 🌍🚀. But when it comes to raising capital, it can quickly consume all your energy. It’s the lifeline that can either propel your venture forward or, in some cases, lead to closing up shop. Here’s the key: Remember why you started in the first place 🔑 That purpose will guide you in making smarter decisions about raising capital being strategic with your partners, and choosing wisely who’s in your corner—whether it’s your R&D consultant, accountant, or investor 💼💡. Stay grounded in your mission and build a team that supports your vision. #TechFounders #StartupLife #CapitalRaising #Entrepreneurship #RDIncentives

If you were asked to repay $250,000 from your business … could you? Too many R&D claimants treat their R&D tax incentive claim with a shocking lack of care, oblivious to the very real risk of an audit that could devastate their business. Picture this: Your company successfully claims $250,000 through the R&D tax incentive. You think you’re in the clear—until an audit reveals gaping holes in your documentation. Suddenly, you're not just being asked to repay that $250,000—you’re facing penalties, interest charges, and possibly even legal action. This isn’t just a financial setback; it’s a catastrophe! 😳 How would you explain this to your shareholders? How would you justify the loss, not to mention the damage to your credibility? The consequences don’t stop there. This kind of financial blow could derail your entire commercialisation strategy, stalling your capital raise and putting your company’s future at risk. Here’s the harsh reality: Large claims are magnets for scrutiny. If your R&D documentation is sloppy or incomplete, your chances of being hit with a failed audit skyrocket. Imagine having to repay not just the $250,000 but also thousands more in penalties and interest. The financial strain could be crushing, forcing you to scramble for funds, cut essential projects, or worse—face insolvency. This is why your R&D documentation needs to be airtight. Tools like R&D Record Finder for Jira can help you maintain the kind of detailed, audit-ready records that are non-negotiable. By treating your R&D documentation with the same rigour as your financial audits, you’re not just protecting your claim—you’re safeguarding your business, your reputation, and your investors’ trust. A rigorous approach to R&D documentation doesn’t just protect you from financial disaster—it makes your company more attractive to investors. When they see that you’re prepared for every possibility, including an audit, they’re more likely to trust you with their capital, knowing their investment is secure. If you were suddenly hit with a $250,000 repayment demand today, would your business survive? Are your R&D records bulletproof, or are you gambling with your future?

Too many tech companies are missing out on capital because of this one thing… In my experience working with innovative tech firms, I’ve seen countless companies give away large chunks of equity in the early stages to attract VC or private equity investment. But what if you didn’t have to dilute your ownership so much, so soon? The R&D tax incentive is a powerful tool that many companies overlook. It can be a game-changer when securing funding without sacrificing significant equity. If your company is actively innovating and successfully claims up to 43.5% of your R&D costs back, investors see an immediate return on their investment. Here’s the math: If a VC invests $1 million into your R&D, that $1 million instantly becomes $1.435 million in effective capital. This makes your company more attractive down the track, as the R&D tax incentive essentially backs the funding provided by VCs, reducing the need to give away too much equity too early. So, why wouldn’t you leverage this advantage?

🚀 Why R&D Funding is the Best Untapped Secret for Tech Companies 🚀 If you’re in the tech industry, it’s time to rethink your funding strategy. Here’s why R&D funding should be your go-to resource: 1. No Competition: Unlike traditional grants, you’re not competing with others. It’s all about what you’ve spent on R&D, not who you know. 2. Non-Dilutive: Unlike venture capital, which can dilute your ownership, R&D funding doesn’t require you to give up equity. 3. Measured to Your Spend: The amount you claim back is directly based on your R&D expenditures, so the more you invest in innovation, the more you get back. Take a look at how our friends at Revel Brewing Company have leveraged Synnch to streamline their R&D claims and maximise their investment in technology: https://lnkd.in/gqcViBhy Unlock the full potential of your innovation and keep more of your hard-earned resources. 💡💰
