One main factor that locks young people out of employment opportunities is a lack of work experience. Here at RISE, we want to set young people up for success and bridge this gap. 🤝   Paid internships can be life-changing but are often impossible to secure. Experiencing PTSD, 18-year-old Vernon was referred to our team through the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre upon his arrival into Australia. Through our Equal Access Program, we were able to help cover the cost of his tuition, uniform, and equipment. Anastasia's always wanted to turn her passion for technology into a career, but a few mental health struggles made this challenging. With the RISE team’s support and training, she was able to gain the confidence to showcase her passion and customer service expertise, and is now thriving in her role at Collingwood Football Club.   Launched last year, our EnterTech program funds young people through work placements and training to acquire invaluable skills and experience. This opportunity provides them with a clear pathway into tech roles – a pathway they would have previously thought near impossible. Last week Talent RISE was honoured to be the official charity partner at the 2024 HR Symposium organised by Ashton Media. Our Step Up Challenge is back and we’re on a mission to create meaningful opportunities for young people. Matariki marks the start of the Māori New Year in Aotearoa, and as this will be our third annual rā whakatā ā-ture (public holiday) celebrating, it’s a reflection of the growing recognition and importance of Matariki in New Zealand culture. The name Matariki means “tiny eyes” or “eyes of God” in Māori and represents the rising of the star cluster, more commonly known as Pleiades. At Talent RISE, we’re advocates for helping our young people reach for the stars and uplifting their mana through the power of employment.
