We help business and government leaders see a clear way forward. Taylor Fry’s actuarial and analytics consultants support our clients in making strategic decisions to enhance the financial health of their organisations, and benefit communities, people and society. We are creative problem solvers – from physicists and engineers to mathematicians and computer scientists. This variety strengthens our advice to meet the needs of our clients and their customers. Our innovations have led to changes in government policy in Australia and New Zealand, and continue to break new ground, particularly in the social sector. Qantas liked our approaches in analytics so much, it bought a 51 per cent stake in our business in 2015. Across our offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Wellington, we value our people as individuals, offering a flexible working environment, with limited hierarchy and where everyone shares equally in the rewards. We are mindful of our effect on the planet and have been carbon neutral since 2006.

What a week! We've had a great few days exchanging ideas, getting together with friends and colleagues, and generally enjoying all our industries have to offer at key events across the country... Principal Ash Evans kicked off the week in Canberra, offering insights on driving better work and community outcomes at It Pays to Care's symposium for Government Employers. He followed this up with two impactful presentations at the #Comcare national #conference on Tuesday. Meanwhile, our general insurance team in Sydney got all dressed up and had a fabulous evening celebrating the industry's best at the 2024 ANZIIF #AUInsAwards last night. Congratulations to all the winners and kudos to ANZIIF for another successful event!

Principal Ash Evans joins industry leaders helping to shape the future of Australian work health and safety, at the 2024 #Comcare National #Conference next week. Underscoring the theme ‘Collaboration for prevention and change’, Ash will present two concurrent sessions, alongside his co-presenters from Comcare and EML, providing important #insights for schemes. Both on Tuesday, the first session looks at the rise in mental health vulnerabilities and the second highlights a successful return-to-work initiative implemented at Comcare. For anyone interested in the latest trends and findings in workers compensation, especially with a person-focused approach in mind, be sure to catch these sessions. We were privileged to take part in the recent Disability at Work conference 2024, held by the National Disability Services, the Australian peak body for disability services. In his presentation, Principal Hugh Miller explored policy options for the supported employment market, in keeping with the conference theme, ‘navigating the future of disability employment’. “While the current supported employment delivers many benefits, there’s widespread agreement on the need for change in the sector following the Disability Royal Commission,” Hugh says. “And real challenges exist in ensuring changes deliver wage improvements without undermining the viability of employment for those currently working.” #PeopleWithDisabilities #DisabilitySupport #ThoughtLeadership

A huge congratulations to Director Ross Simmonds who last night received the NZSA (New Zealand Society of Actuaries) Distinguished Service Award! The accolade recognises Ross’s outstanding work as an active volunteer with the Society over many years, including growing the reputation of the profession and supporting many students in their careers as a former President of the NZSA. Among his other achievements, the NZSA highlighted Ross's significant contribution to a better understanding of climate and flood-related risk and the development of more robust ways to measure and mange uncertainty, as well as his role in leading the move of actuaries away from historical mathematical models in favour of a data science approach. Fantastic and well-deserved recognition, Ross! #Actuaries #LifeAchievements #DataForGood

Celebrating #NAIDOCWeek was truly special for our team. Thanks to Dane Hickey and Caelli Jo Brooker, we immersed ourselves in traditional indigenous grass-weaving, a 10,000-year-old practice. We enjoyed a delicious spread of damper and bush tucker infused delicacies while sharing stories and creating our weaved pieces. The hands-on experience highlighted the importance of reconnecting with and celebrating culture. Grateful for the opportunity to learn, show respect, and support reconciliation and unity. #NAIDOC2024 #KeepTheFireBurning! #BlakLoudProud
