At first glance, the timber truss in the roof of this home looks completely fine... Red imported fire ants are a major problem in Queensland. To spread awareness of these invasive pests, the Queensland Government displayed live fire ants at this year's Royal Queensland Show (Ekka). Mick from Custom Plastic Fabrication created a custom tank that allows visitors to see how a fire ant colony behaves underground. At the top of the tank, Termimesh has been installed to provide the ants with ventilation. This is just one of the countless ways Termimesh can be used outside of termite applications. Perth Zoo's new visitor cafe and function centre facilities are completely protected from termites thanks to the installation of our Termimesh system. For the visitor cafe, two hundred and fifty-eight Termimesh termite mesh caps were installed around the top of all columns supporting the suspended floor.
