We are Australia's LGBTQIA+ education charity. We help young LGBTQIA+ Australians to realise their full potential.
About us
The Pinnacle Foundation is Australia's LGBTQIA+ education charity. Our flagship program provides educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTQIA+ Australians to realise their full potential. Our vision is for a more diverse and inclusive society with visible LGBTQIA+ role models. The Foundation awards multi-year scholarships nationally to students aged between 18 and 26 for fulltime study at public higher education institutions in Australia to achieve educational or vocational qualifications in any profession, trade or the arts. Every Pinnacle scholar is carefully matched with a mentor who will typically share the same academic and professional interests, gender identity and sexual orientation. The mentor acts as a role model. They will have walked the scholar’s path – and provide the encouragement, counsel and inspiration to support the scholar’s rounded development and the successful completion of their studies. Many of the young LGBTQIA+ people that Pinnacle supports have grown up in environments where they have been rejected because of who they are and how they identify. Many have experienced bullying, discrimination and abuse. We know that gaining an education can significantly change life for the better. Education increases our options, enriching and empowering us – it helps us to expand our life choices. Additionally, we ally with The University of Sydney Business School to deliver the LGBTQIA+ Executive Fellowship: https://www.sydney.edu.au/business/study/executive-education/lgbtqia-executive-fellowship.html. The Fellowship, the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific region, develops senior and executive leadership capabilities within the LGBTQIA+ community.

GiveOUT Day, 17 October, is Australia’s national day of giving to LGBTQIA+ charities, not-for-profits and community projects. At least 11% of Australians identify as LGBTQIA+, yet our communities receive just 0.05% of all philanthropic funding in the country. The Pinnacle Foundation is proud to participate in GiveOUT Day. We're not government funded. We rely on the generosity of our donors and partners to educate and support young LGBTQIA+ Australians - many who have faced family, faith and community rejection. Please show your support and donate via our GiveOUT page today: https://lnkd.in/gtHifdwE

We and very proud to share that Diversity Partners will be renewing its silver partnership with us for a further three years. Thank you, Dr Katie Spearritt - we proudly share a vision for a more inclusive society where everyone belongs and is respected.
On this #NationalComingOutDay, it seems an especially good time to share that Diversity Partners has just renewed our silver partnership with The Pinnacle Foundation for a further three years. Founded in 2007, The Pinnacle Foundation is Australia’s LGBTQIA+ education charity. Their flagship program awards educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities to young LGBTQIA+ Australians to realise their full potential. We share a very strong commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces where everyone is respected, connected and belongs. One thing we've been fortunate to do over the past few years is to connect some of our clients with the scholars who have kindly shared their stories, and helped to build greater understanding of the challenges facing young people in the LGBTQIA+ community. We respect the great work of Pinnacle and the team behind it, and extend our particular thanks to Andrew Staite. Jill Skromanis Ola Radka Phil Biggs

Welcome to Bingo Quiz Night! Come join the Pinnacle Foundation's WA committee at the Lucky Shag to spring into Pride for a fun filled evening of drag Bingo and celebrating 20 years of Mean Girls. Enjoy a night of laughter and friendly competition with friends and family, win exciting prizes and the opportunity to bid on our silent auction. Entertainment/host for the evening will be drag queen Fay Rocious. Pinnacle enables young LGBTQIA+ Australians to realise their full potential, become self-reliant, maintain their dignity and give back themselves. The lasting social and economic benefits for the individual, the LGBTQIA+ community, and wider society are great. https://lnkd.in/gp4cTpgd

A Night of Tears, Cheers, and a Million Reasons to Celebrate! 🎉❤️ Last night was pure magic at our annual Cornerstone donors' dinner in Sydney hosted by our partner Morgan Stanley. ✨ Pinnacle scholar Nihar, recipient of the Justin D'Agostino MH and KC Yeo Scholarship shared her inspiring journey, then Dr Craig White (our amazing board member) and his husband Rod stole the show. 🥺 Craig opened up about a scholarship that literally saved his life – and how it led him to the happiness he has today. Then... get this... they announced a ONE MILLION DOLLAR donation to create THREE new scholarships FOREVER. 🤯 The room erupted! Tears, hugs, a standing ovation… you name it. We're still buzzing. 😭 Craig & Rod, you're heroes. Your generosity will change countless lives. 🙏 This is your call to action. Every donation helps us support even more incredible LGBTQIA+ youth! 🌈 Donate here: https://lnkd.in/g_HgKuh Photos by Alexander Legaree

WA Pinnacle Foundation Scholars and Committee Members were thrilled to attend the @Parliament of Western Australia to learn about the important role of the Legislative Council. President, the Hon Alanna Clohesy MLC, generously shared her insights and experiences and reflected on the importance of ensuring our Parliament is diverse, inclusive and truly representative of the community we all share. Thank you for making such a difference! #RepresentationMatters #Pride #Equality #Education
