Earlier today, the SAS Group presented its insights into the much-anticipated Federal Election as Australia sits on pins and needles, waiting for the Prime Minister to make a call. As Chairman Hon Larry Anthony AO rightly pointed out, it is literally the calm before the storm. As people who have spent much of their time in the eye of the storm, Larry Anthony and Director Hon. Bernie Ripoll gave our audience perspectives from both camps on how they anticipate the election will play out, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of both sides. Our second panellists, Senior Consultants Mitchell Collier and Natasha Exelby, however, spent much of their time on the periphery. Mitch discussed campaign strategy and the execution of party machinery in the lead-up to an election, while Natasha walked us through the mind of the media in an election, explaining what makes a story and how who gets to tell the story has shifted over the years. Huge thanks to everyone who was able turn up. And a big thank you to our panel moderator Senior Consultant Allanah Muckert. #auspol #federalelection #messaging #publicaffairs Malcolm Cole Peter Costantini OAM

🩷 Small steps over 5 years make for a giant leap in the battle against coercive control 🩷 It's been 5 years since Sue and Lloyd Clarke lost their daughter in harrowing circumstances. Since that day, they have fought hard to educate about and criminalise coercive control. The SAS Group is honoured to support Sue and Lloyd through Small Steps 4 Hannah and the incredible work they have achieved. We were humbled to stand beside them as they met the press yesterday at Hannah's Place to honour the legacy that will help countless others fight against domestic and family violence. My father, Doug, was a successful politician for 27 years. When I entered Federal Parliament in 1996, he gave me one piece of advice: ‘Son, keep your mouth shut. More people talk their way out of parliament than talk their way in.’ - Hon Larry Anthony AO, Chairman. #auspol #publicaffairs #communications

A huge and well deserved congratulations to Sue and Lloyd Clarke as they are awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for 2025. Sue and Lloyd have been tireless advocates for victims of domestic violence, and did not rest until they achieved the criminalisation of coercive control in Queensland. The SAS Group is humbled to have supported their journey and watch these incredible Australians turn their darkest moments into a landmark legacy. 👏 to you both. Small Steps 4 Hannah
Sue and Lloyd are truly inspiring Australians, turning immense personal tragedy into a movement for change that can help so many others. Being recognised for these efforts with a Medal of the Order of Australia is a fitting tribute to their dedication and resilience. Their advocacy for domestic violence victims, especially the achievement of seeing landmark legislation introduced in Queensland that recognises coercive control as a standalone offence, shows just how much their passion and commitment has effected lasting change. They are a reminder to us all that even in the face of unimaginable pain, you can make a profound difference. Hannah, Aaliyah, Laianah, and Trey’s legacy lives on through the change Sue and Lloyd are helping to create, not just in our justice system, but also in the broader conversations around domestic violence. This Award is more than simply recognition—it’s a way to keep their story alive in the hope it continues to inspire and drive positive change for all Australians. 💕
