We've done the work to ensure our trans and gender diverse programs provide solutions that are genuinely needed in Perth. Our research shows; • Trans children and adolescents report lower physical activity participation levels than cisgender peers • Trans children and adolescents experience significant barriers to physical activity compared to cisgender peers • Trans children and adolescents encounter gender-based isolation in sports, PE, or physical activity resulting in mental health-related concerns • Physical activity supports trans youth, enhancing wellbeing and affirming positive gender identity • Inclusive and safe recreational, sport, and school physical education programs are needed (Find our research here or listed on our website: https://lnkd.in/gUuEWWwj) If you or a person you know wants to add movement and positivity to their week, reach out to discuss how we can help! https://lnkd.in/gjuS_g7F

🧠 1 in 5 (20%) of young people 11-17 years have high or very high levels of psychological distress. During adolescence and early adulthood, mental health problems are among the leading causes of poor education outcomes (e.g., falling grades), problems with friends and relationships, and substance use that can have lifelong impacts. 👨🏫 In a Youth Mental Health First Aid course, learn how to assist young people who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem or are in a mental health crisis. Youth MHFA is for adults who work, live or care for young people, such as teachers, school support staff, parents, sports coaches, community group leaders and youth workers. 📘 Topics covered include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, severe psychotic states and MORE! 📅 NEW COURSE DATE: Blended face-to-face, 8 +15 July 9:30am-1:30pm, Nedlands For more info or to book a course, head to https://lnkd.in/eWFn-s_2

Young adults face unique mental health challenges, with higher incidences of anxiety, depression, and stress. Incorporating structured exercise into their routine can significantly uplift their mental state. Our research highlights the critical role of exercise in addressing mental illness among students. We advocate turning insights into action with campus-based exercise programs that cater to mental well-being. Our Thriving programs are backed by research and evidence - plenty of which you can find on our website: https://lnkd.in/e3g_dNDt
