Tilt Renewables was pleased to sponsor Whyalla's inaugural sleepout to fundraise and raise awareness of hidden homelessness. The community-driven event saw local businesses, groups, and individuals from across Whyalla unite in solidarity, for a night braving the elements to better understand the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness. Along with fundraising efforts, from City of Whyalla many local businesses and agencies participated, including SA Housing Trust, GFG Alliance, headspace, Mission Australia, Centacare SA, Centacare Domestic Violence and Homelessness, and the Wellness Centre, with many representatives spending the night outdoors, read more: https://lnkd.in/gCh3UGGX WE ARE PEOPLE POWERED

Area Manager at Mission Australia, Regional SA | Passionate about Community Wellbeing | Empowering Person-Centred Leadership & Support

On Friday, 32 people from Whyalla, along with a few participants from out of town, gathered for Whyalla's inaugural sleepout to fundraise and raise awareness of hidden homelessness. This experience provided an opportunity for attendees to reflect on the challenges faced by at risk youth and families in our community. Attendees also learned about the vital support offered by local services, including housing, mental health, and outreach programs. This event was made possible through the combined efforts of service providers, local businesses and the Whyalla City Council. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our local fundraising teams, including bake sales and other community initiatives, we collectively raised an impressive $26,464! A special thank you to our gold sponsor, Tilt Renewables for their generous $8,000 donation, which played a key role in this achievement. These funds will help provide essential support, resources and prevention initiatives for youth experiencing homelessness within our community. Our fundraising page will be open for another seven days for anyone wishing to contribute: https://lnkd.in/g5bNssdK Wenona W. Rebecca Neilson Kirsty Colbert Gail Rostig Peter Borda #whyalla

Tilt Renewables are proud to have not one, but two of our assets mentioned in the "Renewable Energy Mix" by Department of Energy and Climate today. As a proud leading renewable energy business and the largest owner of wind and solar generation in Australia, we recognise that a cleaner, more energised future starts with the things we do and the things we inspire others to do, day to day, week to week. #renewableenergy #Australia #cometiltwithus #TiltRenewables #GenTilt #wegetitdone #welead #wearepeoplepowered #renewables #fulltilt

Wind energy is an important part of the renewable energy mix in Australia. While 4 out of 5 of the largest wind farms currently operating are in Victoria, Queensland is building momentum, with sustainable energy generated by wind growing over the years. The importance of wind energy extends beyond clean energy and reducing carbon emissions. It provides economic benefits and job opportunities for locals in regional communities and is valuable in increasing the reliability of Queensland's electricity grid. Coopers Gap Wind Farm, located between Dalby and Kingaroy and operated by Tilt Renewables and AGL, underscores this point. With 123 turbines and a capacity of 453MW, the farm generates enough electricity to power approximately 232,000 homes. Initial construction and ongoing operation and maintenance activities continue to support local jobs and economic development. ACCIONA's Macintyre Wind Farm, which is situated southwest of Warwick and is currently under construction, will be even bigger than this. Once complete, this will be the largest wind farm in Australia and one of the largest onshore wind farms globally, with 162 turbines generating a planned capacity of 1,026MW. It will provide enough clean energy to power over 700,000 homes, and it's generating jobs and career pathways for Queenslanders now and long into the future. These 2 wind projects, and the many more that exist across Queensland, Australia, and the world, demonstrate the scalability and potential of wind energy to meet growing energy demands and deliver jobs and employment pathways for locals. We are thrilled to welcome Angela Catt to ‘Team Tilt’ this week as our new Executive General Manager, Government and Sustainability. Angela has recently returned home from the USA where she was working as the Global Chief Financial and Sustainability Officer for Sims Lifecycle Services, a global provider of circular solutions for technology. Prior to this, Angela held executive roles within the energy sector in NSW Government and AGL Energy. Angela joins two other ambitious, high performing women on Tilt Renewables’ Executive Leadership team, Kathy Bremner and Catherine Ahlberg, and together, bring to our entire Senior Leadership teams, the benefits of gender-balanced leadership. Kathy joined Tilt Renewables from South East Water earlier this year, to lead our People and Culture, Safety, Corporate Communications and Marketing and Business Transition functions through what has been a peak period of growth for our business. Previous roles such as General Manager People, Safety and Governance in the water industry, a number of executive positions in the energy sector, have proven Kathy’s ability to drive results and achieve value for various stakeholders, internal and external to Tilt. Both Kathy and Angela have been welcomed onto the team by Catherine Ahlberg, General Counsel and Company Secretary, who has been steadily leading our Legal, Land and Governance teams along with preparing Tilt Renewables for our future since late 2022, after previously holding Company Secretary roles with civil engineering giant, SNC-Lavalin and Viva Energy. Supported by our Board, Tilt Renewables’ Chairman Cheryl Bart AO and Director Matina Papathanasiou, we recognise the importance that balance plays in building inclusive, flexible and respectful workplaces.

Attending an industry conference is an excellent opportunity for students to learn from experts within the renewable industry and hear about exciting opportunities the clean energy industry has to offer… As part of Tilt Renewables own commitment to championing the representation of women in the renewable energy industry, we were excited to join the Clean Energy Council’s Women in Renewables program which provided us with an opportunity to sponsor a student (or three) to attend the Australian Wind Industry Summit in 2024. This year, Tilt Renewables were honored to sponsor Emma Louer who is currently completing a Bachelor of Engineering (Minor in Ocean Innovation) at the The University of Western Australia, Lexie Sarstedt who is currently completing a Master of Electrical Engineering at University of Melbourne and Isabella Grutzner who is currently completing a Master of Environment also at University of Melbourne, focused on climate change, decarbonisation and sustainability. Thank you to our three very impressive students for your enthusiasm and we hope you walked away with a lot of insight and lasting connections over the past two days. #womeninrenewables #AWIS2024 #GenTilt #thefuture #cleanenergy #education and #opportunity

Looking forward to seeing both familiar and new faces at Clean Energy Council's Australian Wind Industry Summit, tomorrow. Our stand will be in the industry exhibitor hall located between the “Balcony” and the “Verandah” Stand 12. You can’t miss our “Tilt Green!”     In a bid to be more sustainable, we are completely ditching paper flyers and replacing them with our team of dedicated subject matter experts on site instead! … We will also be providing unique QR codes that will point to materials such as our fact sheets and FAQ’s, so make sure your devices are fully charged at one of the recharge stations and swing by to say hello. #AWIS24 #Renewables #Wind #CleanEnergy #AustralianOwned #Sponsor

Celebrating a fantastic start to our partnership with Newmont Australia at Rye Park Wind Farm.  Newmont’s operations are powering a greener future, supplied by 55% of Rye Park Wind Farm’s output to decarbonise the Cadia mine in Orange, NSW.   Rye Park is supplying around half of Cadia’s power needs each year. We’re looking forward to meeting these needs via our PPA for the next 15 years. This is a crucial step for one of our customers and towards achieving a shared goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Together, Tilt Renewables and Newmont are excited to lead the way in sustainable mining practices. It’s a great illustration of how industry can work together to reduce emissions and work on solutions to mitigate the climate crisis.  Let's continue to work together towards a sustainable, greener future!
