  • Cold spray is changing the way we think about manufacturing and repair. To the naked eye, it seems like such a simple process, yet it's complexity lies beyond what the eye can see. It's an incredibly effective process whereby metal particles are fired at supersonic speeds onto a surface. Instead of melting, they bond instantly upon impact—creating a solid, dense layers of material for manufacturing or repair. No heat. No distortion. 💡 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲. 𝗜𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻: - 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 worn or corroded parts to their original condition, saving time and money compared to traditional replacement. - 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 complex, multi-metal parts without melting—ideal for industries like aerospace, defence, and oil & gas. - 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 entirely new components or repair critical parts in harsh environments like offshore rigs or even in the middle of a battlefield. 💡 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 - Cold spray repairs corrosion and wear by restoring damaged surfaces, extending the life of parts, and reducing downtime and costly replacements. - It avoids heat-related issues like distortion or weakening, ensuring parts remain strong and reliable for safety-critical applications. - The technology allows for the use of multiple metals, enabling tailored solutions for specific applications and innovative design possibilities. - It supports sustainable practices by reducing waste, encouraging repair over replacement, and promoting circular manufacturing. - Cold spray systems can be deployed directly on-site, even in remote locations, minimising logistical challenges and enabling faster repairs. 🎥 Watch the video to see this innovative process in action. Cold spray is about doing more with less—making manufacturing smarter, more sustainable, and more adaptable to the challenges of today and tomorrow. #ColdSpray #ManufacturingInnovation #SustainableSolutions #AdditiveManufacturing

  • Aircraft and heavy vehicles are built to last, but only if they’re maintained properly. The global aircraft MRO market was valued at $84.98 billion in 2023, growing at 4.9% CAGR as airlines extend fleet life and avoid costly downtime In trucking and mining, the heavy-duty automotive aftermarket—including MRO—was worth $137.68 billion in 2022. These industries can’t afford to scrap high-value components when wear sets in. They repair, because they have to. That’s because the cost of replacement is staggering. A large turbofan engine powering an airliner like the Boeing 787, Airbus A350, or Airbus A380 can cost anywhere from $25 million to $45 million. A large diesel engine for a truck or mining vehicle ranges from $25,000 to $500,000. These machines are designed for long service lives, but when critical components wear down, full replacement isn’t viable. Cold spray technology is changing the game. Instead of retiring expensive parts, companies like Rolls-Royce, Airbus, and EPCOR are using cold spray to restore rather than replace. Unlike welding, which can damage heat-sensitive components, cold spray builds up and bonds new material without heat, making it possible to resurface turbine blades, gearboxes, and engine components at a fraction of the cost. Titomic is delivering these solutions to the aerospace sector, reducing downtime, cutting costs, and keeping critical assets in service longer. If you could extend the life of high-value assets while reducing waste, why wouldn’t you? What do you think? 🤔

  • We ask a lot of satellites. Hurtling through space at 28,000 km/h, getting blasted by cosmic radiation, and dealing with temperatures that swing from “deep freeze” to “hotter than a welding torch.” How can more satellites be better equipped to deal with radiation exposure and high temperatures while remaining within budget? Cold spray, of course. We’ll be at SATELLITE 2025 in Washington, D.C., from March 11-13. Swing by Booth 2463 to see how cold spray is changing the way satellites handle the extremes of space, and how Titomic cold spray can add new, cost-effective capabilities to your next mission. Titomic’s technology fuses dissimilar metals - titanium, aluminium, copper, even tantalum - without melting them, enabling next-gen radiation shielding, multi-metal solutions, and integrated heat management systems. Examples are already in orbit, with a thermal radiator on the SpIRIT Satellite and radiation shielding aboard a Fleet Space satellite. #SAT25 #SpaceTech #RadiationShielding #HeatExchange

  • A TKF 1000 has been packaged into several crates and is on its way to Titomic’s new facility in Huntsville, Alabama, shipped from our manufacturing centre in Melbourne, Australia. This follows Titomic’s recent announcement of its acquisition of a large facility in Huntsville, marking a significant step in expanding our global manufacturing footprint. Now, with a TKF 1000 en route, we’re gearing up for manufacturing capability to come online mid-year. The TKF 1000 is built for large-scale metal additive manufacturing, enabling multi-metal fusion, rapid part production, and wear-resistant coatings—without melting or altering material properties. Once installed, it will support the expansive manufacturing needs of local industries, from aerospace to defence and beyond. And this is just the start. The Huntsville facility has the scale to house multiple TKF 1000 systems or even a custom production line designed to deliver industrial-scale additive manufacturing to Huntsville and its industry-leading inhabitants. In short, Titomic is bringing industrial-scale cold spray manufacturing to Huntsville. Stay tuned. #ColdSpray #RocketCity #AdditiveManufacturing

  • Radiation shielding isn’t just for space travel - defence, medical, and nuclear industries demand parts that can withstand high doses of radiation. But can conventional materials keep up? ❌ The problem: Most shielding options depend on cumbersome, toxic metal that’s difficult to shape and costly to make or rely on hardened electronics, which can be costly. This means that many satellites begin their mission without the ideal radiation protection. ✅ The solution: Titomic's cold spray technology creates lightweight, high-density shielding options with added durability. We can apply high-performance metal coatings or produce full parts resistant to radiation with no loss of structure integrity. No heat, no porosity, no wasted material. From nuclear power plants to deep-space ventures, we’re creating radiation shielding for a new age.
