Creating a single integrated network accessible to everyone.

About us

We are a department of more than 8,800 employees across the state. Our vision is to create a single integrated network accessible to everyone. No department has a bigger role to play in keeping the Queensland of today moving, or in helping build for the future. Each year we have more than 3.6 million face-to-face interactions with Queenslanders and more than 6.7 million transactions using online service channels. We are responsible for around 80 percent of all government counter transactions. We are an exciting place to work, with an enormous scope of work incorporating 79 different occupational areas. Every day Queenslanders rely on the transport network to get them to work, to school, and to health care. As the most decentralised state in Australia, transport is a key driver of economic growth, and we are at the front line of planning, developing and maintaining the extensive network required to keep Queensland moving. We lead emerging technologies so our transport network meets the needs of our customers now and into the future. We deliver our core business through four key services: • Transport system investment planning and programming – focused on developing policy frameworks for the future development of the transport system and to plan and prioritise strategic investment in effective, efficient and sustainable integrated transport infrastructure, systems and services • Transport infrastructure management and delivery – focused on constructing, maintaining, managing and operating an integrated transport network accessible to all • Transport safety, regulation and customer service – focused on improving customer service and managing and regulating the transport system safely, economically and sustainably and without imposing unnecessary red tape • Passenger transport services – focused on leading and shaping Queensland’s overall passenger transport system. Ultimately, we bring Queensland closer together.

  • Customer service centre and practical driving test update 🔊 We’re working to reopen as many of our impacted SEQ customer service centres and restart practical driving tests as soon as possible 🕐 This may take a little longer in areas experiencing power outages, flooding and staffing challenges. We really appreciate your patience and understanding if your local customer service centre is affected, or if your driving test is cancelled for safety reasons. Customers will be contacted directly where practical driving tests are cancelled. To check if your local centre is open before visiting, please visit https://lnkd.in/gPkfdREP #SEQFlooding #RoadSafety #TMRServiceUpdate

  • Have you spotted these bright yellow boxes at intersections? 🚧 We’re trialling our innovative flood tuff units across key intersections in South East Queensland to protect critical road infrastructure as part of our Tropical Cyclone Alfred preparations. 🌀🌧️ These flood tuff units are designed to shield our electrical cabinets—which manage traffic signals, road lighting, and speed control—from flood waters up to five metres deep! 💡🚦 By safeguarding these systems, we’re working to keep communities connected and traffic operations continuing during and after severe weather events. These units are a key part of our cyclone response and recovery efforts to support local communities. We kindly ask that they remain in place for the safety of all road users. #FloodTuff #RoadSafety #CyclonePreparedness #SEQroads #Innovation #TrafficManagement

  • When sheltering at home, go to the strongest room in the house. It should be an internal room that is away from windows or glass doors, like a bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, or hallway. Take with you: 🐶 Everyone in your home, including pets. 🎒 Your emergency kit, drinking water 💧, phones 📱, and devices 🔋. 🎲 Games and other distractions, as well as pillows and bedding —you may need to stay there for several hours. 🎧 Noise-cancelling headphones for anyone who needs them. Outside will be noisy, like a roaring engine. 🛏 A mattress or heavy blanket to cover any windows if needed. Do not leave this space – the eye of the cyclone 🌀 will be quiet, and you may think it’s over. It’s most likely not! Being near doors or windows can be dangerous. Stay safe 🙏 and listen to emergency services and local weather updates through your local radio or via https://lnkd.in/g36vG9vH Queensland Reconstruction Authority #TCAlfred #GetReadyQueensland #StaySafeQueenslanders

  • As Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaches, TMR is closely monitoring network conditions across South East Queensland. Here's what you need to know: 🔹 Roads, bridges and tunnels: Roads, bridges and tunnels in SEQ remain open. TMR will not pre-emptively close bridges and roads in the lead up to Tropical Cyclone Alfred. 🔹 Brisbane’s Gateway Bridge: In response to weather conditions, the operators of the Gateway Bridge will reduce allowable speeds using the variable speed signs in accordance with their management plans. 🔹 Heavy vehicle operators: Please continue to make informed judgements about whether your specific vehicles are safe to operate in any windy conditions. Remember: Winds >50km/h: Slow down, stay alert. Winds >60km/h: High-risk for tall vehicles; avoid driving, seek safe parking. 🔹 All motorists: Please drive to the conditions, reduce speeds, as conditions deteriorate avoid unnecessary travel and remember if it’s flooded forget it. If the community is advised to shelter in place until the event concludes, all travel should cease. For the latest road closure info and real-time traffic updates: Visit QLD Traffic www.qldtraffic.qld.gov.au or call 13 19 40. Also keep checking disaster.qld.gov.au Stay safe and stay informed SEQ. 💙 TMR #TCAlfred #SEQWeather #QLDTraffic #StaySafe #IfItsFloodedForgetIt
