In the high-pressure world of mining, dehydration poses a serious risk to worker health and productivity. Research shows that many miners lose 5-12 liters of fluid during a shift, leading to fatigue and cognitive decline. That's why we invented the Hydration Station —a vital resource designed to keep your team hydrated and safe. With easy access to fluids and high-powered AC for short cooling breaks, we’re changing the game for miner wellness. Let’s prioritize hydration and create a safer, more productive mining environment together. Check out the video: https://hubs.li/Q02WLcGr0

Manual handling injuries represent a significant financial burden to the mining industry. These costs come in various forms, including direct medical expenses, workers’ compensation, and the costs associated with replacing injured workers or retraining others. In fact, data from WorkCover Western Australia revealed that between July 2004 and June 2006, workplace manual task injuries in the Mining Industry resulted in 643 lost time claims and 1,064 no lost time claims. This represents 38.5% of all lost time compensation amounting to $23.9 million in compensation claims. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dMxyg7A9

Manual handling is one of the biggest causes of workplace injuries, but what is it really costing us? According to Safe Work Australia Workers Compensation Report 2015-2016, manual handling injuries cost Australian businesses $28 billion annually or $75,380 per incident and 90 per cent of the claims are related to musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. A conveyor maintenance team recently contacted us to design a series of custom lifting platforms. The platform keeps parts at a suitable height so that on-site teams don’t need to bend over to pick up heavy items to prevent injuries, protect workers, and save employers costly compensation. Unlike other models, which are manually lifted to the intended height by foot or hand, these units are battery-operated in order to further prevent injury and lost time. If you have a manual handling challenge and need a bespoke solution, we can design a solution from the ground up, just like the lifting platform in this video. Check it out.

Australia’s biggest miner, BHP, was looking to significantly increase the capacity of the lube farm at the South Flank mine site by switching to 1,000-litre IBCs. The company enlisted Tradesales to build a 24-IBC outdoor dangerous goods store. The unit is a self-contained and well-ventilated solution that complies with all Australian standards. Its flexibility allows for convenient on-site installation and secure storage of hazardous materials. With the ability to hold 24,000 litres of oil, this unit offers accessibility from both sides, featuring doors along its length and forklift access to each IBC. A key advantage of this setup is the elimination of manual handling of drums or IBCs, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. The unit is equipped with a robust mid-rack, certified to withstand 18 tonnes, surpassing the requirements for the 12 IBCs it will accommodate. Our range of outdoor dangerous goods stores encompasses various capacities, starting from 1,000 litres and going up to 32,000 litres.

This week, Jonathon Bradford and Troy Guyette had the chance to represent Tradesales at the Defence West booth at the Landforces Expo. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our heavy-duty storage systems, workshop equipment, and relocatable site solutions to key players in the Defence Sector. These solutions are designed to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity, making them a natural fit for defence operations. The Defence Sector is actively engaging with SMEs across the country to build sovereign capability, and events like this are invaluable for starting conversations that we hope will lead to ongoing collaborations. A big thank you to the Defence West team and Minister Paul Papalia for their support – and, of course, for the doughnuts! Feel free to reach out if you want to learn more about how Tradesales can support your defense projects.
