Our employees have some very inspiring wellbeing stories, so why not share them! "Every morning I focus on healthy habits and joyful connections. On this particular morning, it was done on Sydney Harbour, kayaking with a bunch of my paddle crew as the sun rises over Manly." - Lisa.

Meet Leila, Hussain and Jamal – three talented young people who recently interned with us via our much-loved community partner, Western Chances. Western Chances has helped thousands of young people fulfil their potential and overcome barriers to success by providing scholarships, opportunity programs and ongoing support. To celebrate turning 21, Western Chances is raffling off some cool prizes, including a brand-new car! Proceeds will go directly towards helping more young people achieve their potential. https://lnkd.in/gkcwYUWr

We're bike riders too! 🚴♂️ Many of our North American employees and thousands of other cyclists took part in the annual DC Bike Ride, riding through the beautiful streets of Greater Washington. Every year we open up a section of our Express Lanes for this great event that also pedals for a purpose, supporting local communities.

We loved seeing our Ignite Mentoring participants exploring various assets, bridges and tunnels across Melbourne, Brisbane and in our WestConnex Control Centre in Sydney. What a better way to ignite your passion than seeing it all for yourself! #WomenInSTEM

Sherryl and her team had a tight space to carry out maintenance works. Rather than closing lanes on CityLink we used the unique, but effective approach of transporting equipment and materials along the Yarra River to get the job done.

An astonishing 200 tonnes of rubbish was collected from our NSW roads through street sweeping activities over the past year. Over 90% of roadside waste collected is recycled at purpose-built recycling plants such as this one – the Downer Reconomy Centre in Western Sydney. Here, gravel and debris is turned into Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP) which is then re-used as bitumen for paving roads.

Too cute for a koala to bear! We were delighted to work with Downer, HL Landscapes and NorthWestern Roads Group (NWR) to deliver fresh eucalyptus cuttings from NorthConnex to the local Koala Park, in time for Save the Koala Day. When we need to prune trees for safety reasons, we dispose of the offcuts sustainably by donating the leaves and branches to local zoos for animal feed and perching.
