At Two Good Co, food is love; a concept that we know is also honoured in kitchens across the world. Every time we gather for a feast with loved ones, we are nourished not only by the meals, but by the hands + hearts that made them. In collaboration with ALEMAIS, our ‘food is love’ values have been brought to life in a vibrant celebration, through an exclusive, custom Alèmais pattern. We invite you to COOK IN COLOUR with our limited edition gifts for the special folk who pour their heart into serving up moments of love, warmth and good times; we've only created a limited edition run of these luxury goodies, so shop while you can: https://lnkd.in/gzMXKY8c #CookInColour #FoodIsLove #Alemais #TwoGoodCo #TwoGood #socialenterprise #businessforgood #ethicalgifts

“Every event I go to, every talk I give, I am talking to the privileged; it costs too much money to pull people away from the call centres, or the warehouses. So when you’re having events or internal discussions, who are you inviting? Are these people represented, are they present? Or is it their managers’ managers’ manager that's invited? Do they have the time away from their jobs to have these talks? Do they have time away from their desk to have an event, too? Include them – not just DV, but in all of your events. How many of those staff are in the nice events, with the cupcakes or good food? If they're not there, they don't feel part of the whole. It’s one of the things I love about Two Good – we all have lunch together, there is no us and them. So have meetings with them. Ask them personally, what would help people at their level disclose? Because they've got more to lose. The less you've got, the less savings you've got; if you do need to take more time-off more than the allotted 10 days, these people might be living hand-to-mouth. The more often they're invited to the table, the more they're going to believe that they matter. It's not a lack of care in most cases; it's a lack of understanding.” - Lisa McAdams, Founder of Safe Space Workplace and Two Good ambassador, on how to build equity into your workplace DV Policies. "It’s like a whole new little family. I’ve really enjoyed our Two Good lunches where we all just sit down together, too. The fact that we get to do that every day is really special; even if we're crazy busy at work, we also have that time to sit down and chill out, laugh, joke with each other...we get to see people in different departments that we wouldn't get to see. I haven't had a family lunch like that since I was a little kid, when my grandparents were still alive." - Courtney, #WorkWork alumni Want your function to hold the same feelings of love and connection? “I'd like to highlight some of the ways in which things are changing – because I think there's actually been some incredible progress. Like, if we take the issue of coercive control – five years ago, most people would not have heard of it. But ANU did a survey, and 55% of Australians now say they know what it means – which means that they actually know what family violence means, which they didn't before. And I say that as someone who had to learn from the ground up myself, 10 years ago, with a misunderstanding of family violence. There’s the Coercive Control Law Reform in NSW and QLD, with Queensland being backed up by 89 recommendations from a task force, and up the top of that list was a Royal Commission into Policing in Queensland. So there's a lot more to support that systems reform. There’s the Family Law amendments that have been pushed through by the government. And yes, with the Federal Government, we can certainly say that not enough is happening – but they were prepared to burn some political capital from the domestic violence sector side of things, because we were gearing up for a very scary campaign on Family Law. This is the only court where we've had the assassination of judges and the bombing of a court; the sorts of threats you get when you campaign in this space is very scary. Which is why a lot of people wouldn't campaign for a long time. But what the government did was revoke the presumption of Equal Shared Parenting, which sounds like a really nice idea, but what it had done is it had given perpetrators the right to equal custody, no matter what had happened in the relationship, and no matter what continued to happen. There’s many other reforms going on in Family Court…which is a bin-fire of an institution, but is getting better.” - Jess Hill, journalist, author, speaker and writer of 'See What You Made Me Do' What will it take to see the stats drop around F+DV? Check out what Delia Donovan and Lisa McAdams have to say on the matter: https://lnkd.in/gNJRP2Vi #ChangeTheCourse #DoGoodWithTwoGood #BetterTwogether #DomesticViolence

“You've got to be comfortable being uncomfortable. When is the comfortable moment to say, “Hey, I hear things and I'm worried about you?” You don't have to say everything – just start the conversation. “Are you okay?” If she says, “yeah, I'm fine”, just reply with, “Well, I'm here.” She may not know there's anything wrong. Just by telling her, you're showing her…humanity. She might brush you off, but just you asking that question – very gently, very openly, without expecting an answer – she might go away and think, “my neighbor had compassion…maybe I can tell my sister, my friend, my boss.” But the important thing is to do it gently, do it with love. Tell her that you care. That you worry. Show her the compassion that's obviously not happening at home. It won't be comfortable. There's no point where you're going to get comfortable asking that question. Just be brave; because you could change her life. If she brushes you off, that's her defense mechanism. But you don't know what you're doing in her heart. Even if she doesn’t talk to you about it, you might be opening a mirror to her.” - Lisa McAdams, Founder of Safe Space Workplace and Two Good ambassador Read more answers from Jess Hill and Delia Donovan around how to safely approach someone you suspect is experiencing DV: https://lnkd.in/g2TUjEhX #ChangeTheCourse #DoGoodWithTwoGood #BetterTwogether #DomesticViolence

Every Two Good meal is inspired by two core beliefs: 1. Food is more than food. 2. All are equal around our table. A small moment of magic that we hope to bring into your day, at the #TwoGoodCafe Cart - a chance to stop, reset and reconnect, whenever you grab a hot drink, a sweet treat, a Fresh-Filled Focaccia or a warm pastry from Breadfern Bakery Whether you're looking to start the day with some positive vibes, or need an arvo pick-me-up, we can't wait to serve you up some Goodies 'n' good feels.
