What do you do when you lose your speaker 5 days before an industry event about the role of AI in PMOs?? Why, you make your own speaker using AI, of course! 🤓✨
This was the perfect topic to put the tech to the test (I'm not sure it would have worked for our next event, which is about culture).
Here's what I did:
1. I gave ChatGPT a detailed prompt about who I was, what the event was about, who the audience would be, and what they would want from a 15 minute opening presentation. Then I asked it to create a content outline for the presentation. Easy.
2. Except... when I asked ChatGPT how current this content was, it said "up to 2023". So then I asked for a list - with links - of industry reports, publications, articles, and anything else published since then that might be relevant to the use of AI in projects and PMOs. It gave me a list of half a dozen recent articles from reputable sources, which I went and downloaded.
3. I then uploaded those articles back into ChatGPT as attachments and asked it to read the articles and incorporate this new content into the presentation content.
4. Once I was happy with the content, I asked ChatGPT to create a script which could be read in 15 minutes that presented the content in the sequence that I felt supported the meta-narrative I was going for.
...up till now I've spent about an hour creating my replacement speaker...
5. I then set up a free account in Synthesia - a platform that creates digital avatars that narrate custom scripts, lip-synced to your content and in your choice of 80 different languages (boringly, I chose English).
6. I then exported the video of my chosen avatars narrating ChatGPT's script as an mp4 file and inserted it into my PowerPoint pack so I could seamlessly 'hand over' the presentation to my learned AI colleague on the night.
...all up, I would have spent about 4 hours creating my own expert speaker.
Here's the video, for those who are interested in the role of AI in PMOs and/or those who just want to see how tech like this can be used in a pinch like mine.
Spoiler-alert! The last avatar ISN'T ME - it just looks and sounds like me, based on a sample from another video that I uploaded to Synthesia. It's my personal avatar. 🤓🤓✨

This is an additional webinar session for our UK audience, details are below.
How is your project portfolio performing?
You've managed the change, adoption is high and UniPhi is just the way you do things around here. Now what? Well, now we analyse the data and course correct.
This webinar will look at how our CEO uses UniPhi to determine what project is performing well and what isn't as well as patterns that may exist at a portfolio level in terms of supplier or employee performance, estimating variances, schedule variances or governance issues.

Just a reminder that this webinar is on next Tuesday in Aus and the following Tuesday in the UK.
Broken down into 3 parts, you could get what you need in just 20 mins!
The first 20 will go through our ERP features for professional services firms. How to know a project is likely to be a problem within a month of commencement, what areas of your business are you likely to need to recruit or downsize, what's the probability, what sectors are performing and what aren't and more.
The second 20 will look at project performance across all 10 functions of project management. Again, how do you know of the problem children and how do you identify the key issues and risks driving the RAG red (or green for that matter).
Finally, we'll look at PMO tools to track portfolio performance in terms of achieving strategic objectives within the capacity constraints that exist within your organisation.
