Over the past three months, 17 local university students gained hands-on industry experience with us in our Vacation Work Program.   This year, a number of our Vacation Students were offered ongoing employment with us - a testament to the incredible talent and fresh perspectives they bring our growing team.     With a growing service region, programs like this allow us to invest in the future, create meaningful pathways and strengthen the industry with the next generation of motivated professionals.   #Internships #SunshineCoastInternship #WaterIndustry

Our Waraba Wastewater Network Project, which is set to deliver essential infrastructure to the developing area in Waraba (Caboolture South), is nearing the halfway mark.     To thank the community for their ongoing support and patience, our team paid an early-morning visit to locals in the area to chat about the project over a cup of coffee.   The project, which is set to finish later this year, will deliver a new Wastewater Pumping Station and 4.5km of new wastewater pipeline.   Thanks to all who stopped by to chat, and to 'Pootrick' for making a guest appearance!   Learn more about the project: https://lnkd.in/g8zMfwz2   #CommunityEngagement #WastewaterProject

WORLD WETLANDS DAY: CELEBRATING OUR MALENY WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT Our Maleny Wastewater Treatment Plant has recorded 99% of total nitrogen and 98.8% of phosphorus removed before the treated water is released into the Obi Obi Creek. This achievement is thanks to the combination of advanced technology and nature-based solutions that make use of the three hectares of wetlands that surround the plant. On World Wetlands Day, we celebrate these vital ecosystems not just for their role in biodiviersity, but for their integral role in our treatment process in Maleny. VACATION STUDENTS VISIT RECYCLED WATER PROJECT Our current cohort of Vacation Students recently visited our Wamuran Irrigation Scheme (WIS) in South Caboolture to learn about one of the ways we’re continuing work towards a circular future. Emily Ballard, a previous engineering student in the Vacation Program, was tour guide for the day, taking the group through the process that delivers Class A recycled water from the Caboolture South Wastewater Treatment Plant to local farmers. The scheme supports our commitment to sustainability and will help us achieve our goal of net zero nutrients to waterways by 2040. EXCAVATION FOR NEW SPS IN WARABA Project Manager Victor Cabrera has likened the recent excavation works for a new sewage pump station at our Waraba Wastewater Project to the Gate of All Nations in Iran! A new 900mm pipe installation will gather all incoming wastewater from the surrounding development areas in Waraba and send it to the 16-metre-deep pump station wet well, where it's then pumped to the sewer rising main.
