Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Jeff Ramos back to the office for a short but incredibly sweet visit. Jeff has been a beloved member of the Utility Mapping team for over five years, and his presence has truly been missed. It was wonderful to see him and his incredible wife, Cherry, whose support has been key to Jeff’s recovery journey. They brought donuts (which didn’t last long!) and a beautiful handmade card from his kids, a touching reminder of the connection Jeff and his family share with our team. Jeff's strength and positivity continue to inspire us all, and we can’t wait for the day he’s ready to return to the office! #Support #TeamCulture #ThisIsUtilityMapping #RecoveryJourney #UtilityMapping

Innovation in Action: How Utility Mapping Transformed Site Investigations on the Eastern Freeway When faced with long stretches of freeway, bridges, and on/off ramps, traditional hand-pushed 3D Radar methods just weren’t going to cut it. Traffic management challenges, safety risks, and the strain on resources called for a faster approach. That's where we stepped in, collaborating with the North East Link South Alliance (NELSA) to introduce vehicle-mounted 3D Radar technology. This innovative solution made a huge difference: - Reduced traffic disruptions and management costs. - Increased worker safety by removing on-foot exposure to live traffic. - Collected over 350 kilometres of data in just 3 weeks – a task that would’ve taken 4 months with traditional methods. - Provided fast and reliable data. The benefits? Faster results, fewer disruptions, safer conditions, and major cost savings. Read the full article to learn how our 3D Radar technology is paving the way for safer, smarter infrastructure projects. #SubsurfaceIntelligence #UtilityMapping #Construction #3DRadar #GPR #Utilities #Safety

At Utility Mapping, our team is constantly on the road and out in the field, so staying connected can be a challenge. But strong communication and teamwork are the foundation of everything we do. That’s why we make it a priority to come together during our monthly cook and connect meetings and what better way to connect than over a meal? 😋 Each month, a different team takes the reins, serving up not only delicious food, but fresh ideas and updates from the field. This simple tradition reinforces our core values of teamwork and balance, giving everyone a chance to recharge, catch up in person and reflect on lessons learned over the past month – all while indulging in some delicious food! 🍰 #UtilityMapping #TeamCulture #Culture #Toolbox #Teamwork

Industrial sites, especially those with a long history of development, often have hidden subsurface structures that are unlikely to have been recorded. Utilities, underground tanks, basements, tunnels and more can all be hidden underground and can pose serious risks to your operations and safety. By using advanced locating techniques and 3D Radar technology, we’ve uncovered the unknown, giving the site owners a clearer picture of what’s lying beneath the surface. Our comprehensive approach layers critical data, helping you uncover potential hazards before they become costly, dangerous surprises. We provide services on a variety of industrial and post-industrial sites including rail, shipping, manufacturing and wastewater plants. How confident are you in understanding what is below your industrial worksite? Watch the video to see how we helped an industrial site owner gain a better understanding of the risks and structures beneath their site. #UtilityMapping #3DRadar #GPR #IndustrialSites #SiteManagement #Innovation

Looking to upgrade or maintain your roads and pavements? Our 3D Radar technology allows for precise assessments of subsurface road conditions, asphalt thickness and potential underlying issues - all with minimal disruption. With 3D Radar, we capture data efficiently and on-the-go, creating precise underground infrastructure models without hindering traffic or the community. This advanced method surpasses traditional utility locating techniques, delivering detailed three-dimensional maps that reveal the complete subsurface environment, including any hidden anomalies. In our recent project in Melbourne's southeast, we deployed 3D Radar technology to evaluate pavement conditions across various roads. Whilst traveling at normal speeds, we gathered accurate data across eight hectares in just one day, ensuring minimal disruption to the area. Our system detected subsurface features and measured asphalt thickness every 7.5 cm, producing a detailed point cloud that provided invaluable insights for our client. This innovative approach not only improves accuracy but also helps reduce costs and mitigate risks. With our 3D Radar Surveys, we are committed to delivering safe, cost-effective and sustainable subsurface solutions, turning the unknown into actionable insights. October marks National Safe Work Month, highlighting the vital importance of safety in every workplace. At Utility Mapping, safety is not just a priority it is the foundation of our work. Given the serious risks associated with working around underground utilities, even a small mistake can lead to hazardous strikes or significant service disruptions. Our expertise allows us to locate utilities with precision, minimising risk and ensuring a safer work environment for all involved. This month serves as a powerful reminder to go the extra mile for safety, not just in October, but year round. Let’s commit to making safety a constant focus, today and every day. #UtilityMapping #Safety #TeamCulture #SafetyFirst #SafetyIsOurBusiness

These images demonstrate the critical difference our 3D Radar technology can make. In the first image, you see the publicly available data of underground utilities in South Melbourne. The second image, however, reveals the additional unknowns, marked in red, that our 3D Radar uncovered. These findings highlight the importance of identifying hidden subsurface infrastructure, which is often missed and can lead to costly utility strikes and potential hazards. Avoid unexpected utility strikes, costly repairs and hazards with our advanced 3D Radar technology - ensuring your next project is safer, smarter and free of unnecessary delays. #UtilityMapping #SubsurfaceIntelligence #GPR #3DRadar #Utilities #Safety

Our 3D Radar technology offers a non-invasive solution for quickly and accurately detecting and mapping underground utilities, structures and anomalies. 3D Radar allows us to see what is beneath the surface without disturbing the ground. What sets 3D Radar apart is its versatility. Whether you are mapping utilities, assessing road conditions, locating buried heritage assets, or even identifying unexploded ordnance, 3D Radar is an invaluable tool for any job. Our 3D Radar technology works by sending electromagnetic pulses into the ground and when these pulses hit different subsurface materials, they bounce back, allowing us to create a detailed map of what lies beneath the surface. By identifying changes in these materials, we can accurately detect utilities, voids and other underground features. This technology helps improve safety and efficiency, ensuring you know exactly what is beneath the surface before starting your project. Get in contact with us to find out how 3D Radar can assist your next project. #UtilityMapping #SubsurfaceIntelligence #3DRadar #Technology #Utilities

We are committed to creating a strong culture of communication and care is at the heart of everything we do. With offices across Australia, our quarterly Town Hall meetings are an important opportunity to bring our team together, share business updates and reinforce our core values. This month, we aligned our Town Hall with R U OK? Day, a day dedicated to mental health awareness and fostering supportive conversations. We believe in the power of connection, and the message that "A conversation can change a life" deeply resonates with us. It's a reminder that taking the time to check in with one another can make a profound difference. #UtilityMapping #RUOK #Culture #Team #MentalHealth #Awareness
