To honour the life and legacy of Emeritus Professor Alan Robson AO CitWA, our much-loved former Vice-Chancellor, a memorial service will be held in Winthrop Hall next Friday 15 November at 1pm. The event will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. A Memorial Tribute Book will be available at the University Club reception from Monday, 11 November 2024 and following the memorial service. Submissions can be made online via the form linked on the event page. For those who have requested, or wish to make a contribution in lieu of flowers, the University and the Robson family have set up the Alan Robson Memorial Fund, which will support an area that aligns with Alan’s passion for creating a brighter future. The University of Western Australia is saddened by the loss of Emeritus Professor Alan Robson AO CitWA, who died yesterday aged 79. Professor Robson served as the University’s Vice-Chancellor from 2004 to 2011 and although retired for many years, he remained connected to UWA throughout his retirement. During his eight years as Vice-Chancellor and 11 years as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robson was recognised as an outstanding leader, friend and mentor to many, attending more than 180 graduation ceremonies, and witnessing over 65,000 students graduate. Professor Robson was highly regarded for his commitment to ensuring the University was a place where diversity was recognised and celebrated.
