Get to know Mimo Mukii and Maya Johnson, the recipients of the Victorian Screen Internship! 👋 Mimo is an emerging producer from Melbourne, with a passion for creating screen stories that speak to and reveal the untold stories of underrepresented communities. Mimo has produced several short films, including their debut feature film Pasa Faho, which is part of VicScreen’s Originate Features initiative. Maya is a proud Wulgurukaba woman from Yunbenun (Magnetic Island), on a mission to share First Nations stories. She worked at ABC in Melbourne creating content and campaigns for ABC Indigenous, and has also produced content for Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation, Creative Australia and worked in production roles. The VicScreen supported documentary, Iron Winter will have its world premiere at the prestigious Visions du Réel, Festival international de cinéma Nyon. 🌟 The latest documentary feature from Kasimir Burgess, follows two young Mongolian horse herders who battle extreme winter cold to protect an ancient tradition that risks being lost forever. ❄️ Iron Winter will premiere internationally at the 2025 Melbourne International Film Festival, followed by a theatrical release in Australia by Bonsai Films. 🍿 #VICSCREEN | #FilmFestival #Documentary
