🔹 Grow and nurture Aboriginal Languages across NSW 🔹 Celebrate and promote Aboriginal Languages across NSW The Aboriginal Languages Trust is an Aboriginal-led NSW Government Agency. The Trust was established under the NSW Aboriginal Languages Act 2017 to provide a focused, coordinated, and sustained effort in relation to Aboriginal Languages activities at local, regional and State levels. The affairs of the Trust are managed by a Board of between five and eleven Aboriginal People. Moving from establishment to delivery phase, in the third year of their Strategic Plan the Trust is seeking a Chair and Board Members to provide strategic advice and direction to celebrate and promote Aboriginal languages. We are seeking Aboriginal people with diverse skills and experience who are able to contribute broadly and work together effectively as part of a board. Capabilities and experience in the areas of Aboriginal language development, from advanced through to developing, education and training, public relations/marketing, legal/compliance/risk, financial, IT, HR, and governance would be of value. The Chair is responsible for leading the activities of the Trust Board, ensuring the Board performs its functions, that all Members contribute and facilitating frank and open discussion. The Deputy Chair would support the Chair in their functions and deputise when needed.
