Over the last 12 months it has been a privilege to work with the Warringah Freeway Upgrade (WFU) team, and yesterday we had the opportunity to hear about the incredible achievements the project has made on such a complex and critical infrastructure project. What makes the achievements all the more remarkable is that the emphasis on quality delivery has been matched by the emphasis on creating a culture of wellbeing. Although the benefits of focusing on wellbeing are undisputed, it still requires leaders like those at WFU, who are willing to challenge the status quo and commit to a course of action that moves beyond an event-based or ‘tick the box approach’. Yesterday staff also had the opportunity to hear from Adrian Kiely - a leader from another highly challenging field as the Commanding Officer of one of Australia’s three F-35 squadrons, the most advanced fighter aircraft in the world. Adrian shared his experience on the indisputable case for wellbeing, the practices that are now embedded into the broader team culture, and some insights on what it takes to change cultures. Congratulations to the leaders at WFU and Adrian Kiely for the positive impact you’re making on your people’s lives, their communities, and the critical industries you operate in. We look forward to continuing the journey over the next 12 months with WFU.

This interactive and practical 4-hour workshop is at the Lougborough University London campus on June 27 and participants will have the opportunity to explore a powerful suite of tools to enhance self-awareness and strengthen connections and psychological safety. We're really looking forward to launching this next generation approach to mental health; one that recognises the role of the environment and the individual - and how both can be set up for success (for performance and mental wellbeing). You can find out more about the Certificate in Elite Sport Mental Health and register for an information session here: 9th April: https://lnkd.in/gj42xyR9 16th April: https://lnkd.in/g3k4RivK
Excited to launch our second major program in elite sport. The Certificate in Elite Sport Mental Health is the most comprehensive training program of its kind in the world and commences on 14th of May 2024. The program takes an ecological systems approach to mental health strategy, so that there is a focus on people and the environment for mental health promotion and protection. By taking such an approach it is possible to create mentally healthy environments AND teach people what it means to be mentally HEALTHY so they can help themselves and others, function well and feel good. We believe this ecological approach provides elite sport with the most effective strategy for Mental Health because it addresses the environment, systems and people. Our global program is designed for player care, safeguarding, player development, performance lifestyle and wellbeing specialists who work in elite sport organisations full time. It is designed so participants can develop a customised mental health strategy and program for their sporting organisation. It is a program specifically designed for practitioners and not consultants. Running over 14 weeks, the program is completely online and includes: - 14 online learning units completed at a time that works for you) - 7 fortnightly (2 hour) group online learning sessions 9.00am (UK) 6.00pm (AEST) - A 14-week post program submission window to complete assessment tasks. Each course has a maximum of 20 participants. The program commences on the 14th of May 2024 and enrolments close on the 7th of May 2024. The tuition for the program is 1500 GBP or 3000 AUD. To learn more about this ground-breaking program join one of our two Information Sessions. Really pleased to see this initiative this initiative by the National Rugby League to boost the awareness and skills of player agents as part of their ongoing accreditation.
In the world of professional sport, Player Agents are not often given credit for the off-field work they do with Players - because many people view them as contract negotiators. Agents work in a challenging and unforgiving environment where the human side of their work is often hidden from public view. So it was great to see National Rugby League Player Agents complete the Wellbeing Playbook training which included personally completing the program and also sharing the Playbook program with a contracted Player. Again great leadership shown by Paul Massey and Head of Player Wellbeing, Paul Heptonstall to make the program available as part their continuing accreditation.
