Versatile & Adaptable Water Tanks for a Gold Mine. We recently delivered five 50,000L water tanks to our client's gold mine in Kalgoorlie. These tanks will be used to store raw water, providing a critical resource for the operation. Escorted by pilot vehicles, the tanks were safely delivered to site and quickly set up, thanks to the minimal preparation required. This quick, easy delivery and set up was one of the reasons our client wanted poly tanks. While their current on-site location is temporary, one of the key advantages of our poly tanks is their versatility and durability, making them an ideal choice for a dynamic work environment like a mining site. Because our poly tanks are lightweight when empty, they are easy to transport and relocate when needed. This is a crucial feature for mining operations where requirements can change rapidly. Whether you need to move them across the site or to an entirely new location, these tanks can adapt to your needs without the hassle of heavy equipment or extensive logistics. While also requiring minimal site preparation, a flat level surface is all that's needed for a quick setup, reducing downtime. On top of being versatile, our poly tanks are durable to the harsh conditions found onsite and built to withstand Australia’s tough climate. They are UV-stabilised, protecting them from the damaging effects of harsh sunlight. Maintaining their structural integrity and appearance, even in challenging environments such as a mining site. It's why for our client the choice of poly tanks was clear. Their combination of portability, durability, and ease of installation makes them the ideal solution for storing potable raw water. As operational needs evolve, these tanks can be relocated effortlessly, providing long-term value and reliability. Mixing Superabsorbent Polymers, The Hidden Cooling Power Behind Everyday Essentials// What Are Superabsorbent Polymers? Though the name may not ring a bell, superabsorbent polymers are the unsung heroes behind products we rely on daily—from the gel in cool packs that ease our aches to the insulation that keeps our groceries fresh. At West Coast Poly, we recently had the opportunity to design a custom mixing tank tailored to the unique challenges of working with superabsorbent polymers. Our client required a mixing tank that could handle the process of transforming superabsorbent polymer powder into a gel. The challenge lay in the polymers' ability to swell significantly as they absorb water, leading to a thickening of the mixture and an increase in volume. This swelling creates pressure within the tank, making it crucial that the tank could withstand these changing conditions without compromising its structural integrity. To meet these demands, we engineered a low-level mixing tank equipped with a dual impeller system. This design allows for simultaneous mixing and drawing down of the liquid, ensuring consistent blending of the thickening polymers. As the powder mixes with water, the polymers absorb the liquid and begin to form a gel, increasing the mixture's volume and pressure. To ensure the tank could handle the increased pressure, we subjected it to Finite Element Analysis (FEA) testing. This rigorous testing confirmed the tank’s ability to withstand the expanding volume density, providing our client with the confidence that the tank would perform reliably under demanding conditions. This tank is a testament to our commitment to solving challenges with innovative solutions. By understanding the unique properties of superabsorbent polymers and designing a tank that could meet the specific needs of our client, we delivered a product that not only performs efficiently but also stands up to the rigorous demands of industrial use. Whether it’s in the cool packs that keep your groceries fresh or the gel that soothes your injuries, our mixing tanks play a small part in the production of these everyday products. Effortless Portable Water Storage for Mining Camps These four 10,000L portable water storage systems, are a popular unit for our mining clients. It's because of the plug-and-play design, once these units arrive on-site, they can be quickly set up and operational, allowing our clients to focus on larger challenges. This "set it and forget it" approach ensures that their potable water storage needs are met reliably, giving our clients confident in their water supply. These tanks were tailored to meet the requirements of an iron ore mine in Northern Western Australia and will ensure the mining camp has access to safe drinking water with minimal hassle. Each unit is a self-contained in a Heavy-Duty Steel Platform, crafted by our steel fabrication team. The robust platform features fork pockets, external protection frame, lifting points, pump cover, and tank position brackets. The platform is finished with a Dulux industrial undercoat & topcoat, with mid and top protection rails for added durability. The mechanical level gauge, with a duragalv indicator pole is secured to the tank wall and ensures precise water level monitoring. A built-in Davey HP45-05T pressure pump constantly circulates water from the bottom to the top, preventing stagnation and maintaining water quality. The 240V pump has a maximum flow rate of 70L/min and will ensure consistent water pressure. A small tap on the side of the tank allows for easy water sampling to ensure quality standards are met. Designed with the harsh conditions of mining operations in mind, these portable tanks are robust, durable and ready for immediate use. The heavy-duty frame and industrial-grade components ensure that the system can withstand the rigors of a mining environment while providing consistent and safe potable water. Travelling Through The Wheatbelt With Josh Kennedy Last week, our Sales Manager Chad travelled across the WA Wheatbelt with our brand ambassador Josh Kennedy. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with our agents, their customers, and the vibrant local community. We visited Merredin, Narembeen, Hyden, Kulin, and Brookton, meeting wonderful people along the way. We are proud supporters of country football clubs, the heartbeat of each town. As part of our visit, Josh led a training session for the junior and league teams of the Narembeen Football Club putting them through their paces while sharing his expertise and passion for the game. It's always enriching to visit different rural towns across our state, connect with our customers and agents, and hear their stories. A big thank you to everyone who joined us for these events, interacted with Josh, and supported us. A special shoutout to our agents and staff whose dedication made these events possible.

Setting Standards// This 23,000l tank just finished load point testing conducted by our QA team. Which is a test conducted to achieve certification on the tank lifting points to the working load limit. We believe that our commitment to quality assurance and rigorous testing is something that sets us apart. It's the reason we are a trusted partner for industrial clients and why our client didn't just order the one tank from us but ordered 12 tanks from us for their mine site. The tanks are designed to store a variety of liquids, including wastewater, process water, and chemicals. So, to ensure every tank not only meets but exceeds Australian quality standards our quality assurance team conducts extensive testing which includes: Load Point Testing: Each tank undergoes meticulous load point testing to certify the lifting points to the working load limit, ensuring safe and efficient handling. Hydrostatic Testing: This involves thorough pressure and leak testing, guaranteeing the tanks are fit for purpose upon arrival at the site. Some tanks are equipped with heavy-duty galvanized restraint rings featuring eight vertical posts. Additionally, our tanks are FEA engineered and have undergone non-destructive testing to be certified for Region D, Category 2 cyclonic wind loading. This certification ensures steadfast reliability, even in extreme weather events.
